Forgotten Places Photography
The Gray and The Fraser Buildings........ These are the most decayed buildings that still stand and I was lucky to be able to go into the Gray, I have another section for the Fraser. I was the last one to walk through these halls they are closed forever due to there terrible and hazzardous conditions. Enjoy.......... The Gray Entrance to another place, the green and blue was truly stunning with the sunlight. Decay.... Mural looks like it could have been for children at onetime, I also found a hospital crib.....not sure but its possible through the door.... bathroom that is on its last legs..... Chairs..... Crib.....creepy at that, luv it! As you enter the second floor of The Grey Building there is this huge room that has a fantastic skylight, now if the floor was trust worthy I would have went out there but as you can see hmmm not so much...this building is deteriorating pretty well but the floors were for the most part okay and not too soft.... Here I found alot of old papers from 1955-56...no patient records just purchase orders and other stuff....it was really cool.

    HORSES
    PHOTOGRAPHY
Ireland, a country steeped in the history of horses, has a continuing tradition of horse fairs. Monthly horse fairs are still held at Smithfield in Dublin, although the architecture of the area has been transformed. Horse owners from all over Ireland gather together to buy and sell their charges. Many of the old ways, such as slapping hands in doing the deal are still in use to this day, the survival of tradition contrasting starkly with the stainless steel and glass of the new look Dublin. In a recent trip to Spain Patrick took a wonderful wild horse photograph while documenting an age old tradition of looking after the wild horses of western Spain. This horse photograph and others can be viewed by clicking the link Horses above.

Welcome to our little corner of the world. We're located between the Rocky Mountains and the northern Great Plains, between Yellowstone and Glaicier National Parks. While we try to focus on the peace and quite of our plentiful open spaces, we also enjoy the roar of motor sports.
We enjoy leaving our home and visiting the beauty and peacefulness of the great out doors. Several times a year we try to visit someplace peaceful to unwind and enjoy creation. Some of our favorite places to do that are the Flathead Lake and Glaicier Park areas.
We try to get to the places that many would miss, off the beaten path, and just around that hidden bend. While we also like the pictures that "everyone" takes, such as Old Fathful, and Mount Rushmore we try to get what others pass by.
Our lead photographer is somewhat of a history buff and so some of the historical sights will at times have a little history written about them. We love the great out of doors and the beauty God has created, and want to share that with others. Much like those who came before us, we want others to be able to in a small way experiance what we do, even if only with a photograph.
In keeping with that spirit we offer all of our pictures on this site for purchase. There are many differant size prints and gifts available. We've also put together a few package deals, and are open to sugestions for others. Just choose the photos you like and click on the buy button to make your choices. Or perhaps you would like to download the file so you can have it on your own computer. Feel free to drop us a line either at contact@peacefulplacesphotography.com or, simple click on the contact link at the bottom of the page and fill out the form. We'd love to hear from you.

    Historic Places Photography
Copper and Shell Fountain, Artist Elizabeth Eaton Burton
by Bo Mackison on Copper and Shell Fountain © 2010 Bo Mackison Even though we camped when we were at Yellowstone National Park, we spent the middle of each day exploring some of the historic buildings in the various areas. One afternoon we spent a few enjoyable rainy hours wandering around the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. We had tea in the lobby while a fire roared in the fireplace. Then we checked out the Map Room . I took a few photographs of some of the more interesting nooks and crannies including this tiny space, just big enough for a table and two chairs . And finally we discovered this quaint, coppper and shell water fountain. It took me awhile to track down the information about this artistic creation. I picked up an information sheet about the fountain while we were at the hotel, but in the distraction of arriving home and then preparing for a long weekend trip to New York City, I filled a large pile of brochures and maps in a box to organize some of the clutter from the studio. And then I forgot where I put the box. A couple of days ago, while in a studio-cleaning mood, I rediscovered the box, and thus found the story behind the fountain. Again.
