  • More than 64,000 people belong to native plant societies or botanical clubs in United States and Canada. Oldest botanical club: Torrey Botanical Society, 1867 Oldest native plant society: New England Wild Flower Society, 1900 Youngest native plant society: Finger Lakes Native Plant Society of Ithaca, NY, 2002 Largest societies: Twelve societies have 1,000 or more members. The four largest are Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center with 13,000 members; followed by the California Native Plant Society (9,500); New England Wild Flower Society (5,000); and Florida Native Plant Society (3,000). Twenty-nine societies have 300-1,000 members; all but four of the remaining 30 have 100-300 members.

Plant Society and Garden Club Links The North American Rock Garden Society BONZAI Federation of British Bonsai Societies - Mike Smith This is the principal co-ordinating body for bonsai clubs in the UK. I had a chat with Mike at the FOBBS stand at Chelsea 08, and presented him with a copy of Bonsai Genie. We fine tuned this software for Bonsai Enthusiasts. Northern Ireland Bonsai Society Something else to do with those wonderful Japanese maples, and a host of other plants. I met Ian Young at the Bonsai display stand at Belfast Rose Week in July 2010 and invited him for a demo of Bonsai Genie.
