Saint Francis Hospital’s Special Needs Preschool Program and Center for Communication Disorders are our region’s respected leaders in providing services to children and adults with language-based needs. The Special Needs Preschool Program is the Mid-Hudson’s largest provider of services to children from 18 months to 5 years, serving those diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. The Program offers the only center-based program for autistic preschool-aged children in Dutchess County. The Center for Communication Disorders provides Early Intervention Services for children from birth to 3 years of age, in addition to evaluation and treatment for speech, language, hearing, and swallowing. The Panichi Center for Communication and Learning, which opened in Beacon in 2005, is a 8,500 square foot facility dedicated to the special needs of pre-school children. Its construction was in response to the needs of a growing number of children in the mid-Hudson Valley. The Center also includes a Communication Disorders satellite site serving adults and children with speech, hearing and swallowing disorders. Including:
