What are the qualifications for Senior Membership in CAP
To be members of the Senior Program, applicants must:
  • Be prepared to promote the objectives and purposes of CAP. Be at least 18 years of Age. Be a citizen of the United States (with certain considerations for lawfully-admitted aliens) Be a law-abiding citizen.
What can I do in the Senior Program?
Unlike most members of the military, as a senior member, you will have the opportunity to function in multiple areas if you like. One Area is called your functional specialty , and the other is called your Emergency Services specialty . The functional specialty is an area where you serve an in an administrative role as a member of the squadron. Some of the specialty tracks are:

    After School Quality Standards
    The importance of quality improvement for Rhode Island after-school providers is driven by a shift in how after-school programming is perceived by the public. No longer are after-school programs viewed as babysitting for children with working parents. Instead, they have become enriching holistic programs with their own goals and objectives. As a result, after-school providers need to learn more about how they can improve their programs to better serve youth. As an initial step towards quality improvement, PASA convened after-school providers, youth, parents and funders to develop a common definition of quality after-school opportunities. This group identified the most important aspects of quality programs for Providence children and youth. The resulting quality standards for after-school programs were broken into five major categories:

      • Do I have to pre register for a class?
        • Yes. Please assist us by pre-registering for classes so we may adequately prepare teachers, facilities and materials.
        How much does a class cost?
        • Generally, all courses sponsored by Provo City School District cost $20.00.
        Can I get a refund?
        • Fees will be returned upon request if a class fails to carry or the applicant cancels one week before the first class meeting.
        How much credit do I receive for each class?
        • Required classroom hours for credit are: 7 clock hours = .5 semester hour 14 clock hours = 1 semester hour 21 clock hours = 1.5 semester hour
        What if I have to miss some classes?
        • Participants must attend all sessions of an inservice class in order to qualify for credit. The instructor's roll verifies credit earned. Emergency situations can be discussed with each individual instructor.
