    Python snakes into St. John's
CBC News This Python was found slithering through a St. John's neighbourhood in August. (CBC) Police captured a metre-long snake in the Southlands area of St. John's Wednesday, and found the owner after getting the SPCA involved. "We responded to a report of a snake being found in a backyard," said Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Const. Paul Davis. "The report we had was that the snake was actually striking out at a family dog. Our officers were able to use their batons as well as hoods that we carry to take the snake, place it into a cardboard box and transport it to the SPCA, where it's being cared for today [Thursday]." No snakes are native to Newfoundland and Labrador. A wildlife expert says the captured snake is a carpet python that's native to Austrailia, where it usually eats birds, lizards and small mammals. Police said they have identified the snake's owner, but it's not a criminal matter. They added that SPCA officials will speak with the owner about containing his snake properly.

2 Jungle Carpet Pythons. Black and yellow and about 24 to 30 inches each. Comes with tank, lamp, perching logs and bedding. Details These beautiful jungle carpet python snakes were my roomates and when he moved suddenly they were kind of dumped on me. I am still going to school and planning on moving around quite a bit so i am not really able to keep them.
They are about 2 to 2 1/2 feet long and are still young so they will most likely get brighter and more beautiful in their coloring as they get a little older. They come with a pretty nice tank (about 4 by 1 ft and 2 ft tall) plus the bedding, some logs for perching and a heating lamp.

" Snakes...why did it have to be snakes " Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark T he earth is home to over 2,700 species of snakes. Unfortunately no other group of animals has suffered such misunderstanding and persecution as the snakes. Approximately 20% of the species of snakes in the world are venomous. This leaves approximately 80% that pose little, or no threat to people. The fact is people are the ones that pose the greatest risk to snakes. The world over, snakes are killed for their skins, to be eaten as food, or just out of pure ignorance on the part of an uninformed person. RainForest Adventures is home to over 100 species of snakes. Our Collection changes on a regular basis to ensure repeat visitors to the Rain Forest are seeing new and exciting creatures all the time! Python Snakes
Types Of Snakes September 28, 2008 0 Comments Now this is one big snake that we are talking about, really the python is the largest among the snake family. And there are two kinds of these, the reticulated python and the usual one. Both of them are very aggressive and kill their prey by constriction. Though they might be non venomous but are deadly, as they are capable of devouring a small child or even a big antelope. There have been many myths and rumors that have been associated with this snake. As said before they are usually found in those tropical rain forests and the sub tropical regions of Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands. Among the species of python that exist on this planet, the reticulated python is the longest among them while the usual kind of python is the heaviest. There are other species that seem to be their cousins and they are the boa. However, there are some other kinds that are also there such as the African Rock Python, the Indian Python and the Royal Python. After having told so much about the python, one would feel that they are very deadly to humans and one needs to keep far from them. But the truth is something you would really want to hear, these are the best snakes that can be petted and tamed at your home.

About Andrew King
Expertise
I can answer general questions on most species of snake and have deeper knowledge with caring and taming of Common/Red tail Boas, Royal 'Ball' Pythons and Corn Snakes. including, feeding, housing - temperatures, substrate, tank size, layout etc. - and common illnesses, their symptoms, causes and treatments. I am not too familiar with any venomous snakes so am probably unable to answer questions regarding them.
Experience
I own and have owned several snakes: Male Common Boa, Female Guyanan Red Tail Boa, Royal 'Ball' Python, a Male and Female Western Hognose, a Male Mexican Hognose and a Carolina Corn Snake. I have worked in an exotic pet shop, selling hundreds of different snakes from anaconda's to rattlesnakes for the past 2 years or so.
