With the technology of the early 20th century, radio communication systems required:
    • The production of radio frequency alternating electrical energy at a transmitting station Alternating currents are set up in the transmitting circuit, of suitable frequency and of great intensity (or high voltage ). This insures a high rate of variation of the interlinked electrostatic and electromagnetic fields and a great magnitude of these variations. The radiation of this energy into space . The transmitting circuit is given a shape suitable for producing fields extending to great distances and generally in the direction of the receiving circuits more than in other directions. The absorption of a portion of this electromagnetic energy at the receiving stations and its transformation into some form of energy capable of affecting some one of the human senses . The receiving circuit is given such a shape and position as to link it with as large a proportion of the field of the transmitting circuit as possible.

In contrast to conventional combat radios with fixed architecture, our new digital software defined radio generation - like (Multimode Multirole Multiband radio and Tactical Radio) - feature maximum flexibility in terms of frequency bands, waveforms and functions.
As solution for multiband radio the M3TR transceiver family covers the whole spectrum from shortwave through to the UHF band. "Multimode" means, that thanks to optimized protocols and waveforms M3TR can achieve high data rates of up to 64 kbit/s in the VHF, UHF band. This digital software defined radio offers comprehensive multirole features allowing its easy integration into tactical radio and communication networks.
M3TR (Multimode Multirole Multiband radio and Tactical Radio) is not restricted to use in strictly military networks: by loading the appropriate software the transceivers can be used as terminals in civilian PMR networks.

Radio waves are a form of electromagnetic energy which travel through space. Radio waves have a number of characteristics, which include such things as frequency amplitudeand polarization.
The effect of frequencies on Sky-wave propagation make HF a better choice for longer range Communication.VHF and UHF for shorter range.
Most Radio Communication Devices operated on Simplex Mode. That is, you cannot receive Signal while you are transmitting signal.
Press-To-Talk (PTT) switch is built to switch Radio Transceiver from Receiving mode to Transmitting Mode. Thus, in Radio Communication, you have to wait for your counterpart to complete his message before you can reply.
Selection of Frequency
Allocation of Radio Frequency is done (controlled) by the Telecommunication Authority
Reception on Higher frequencies (above 12 MHz) is general more satisfactory during the day than at night, on frequencies below 6 MHz, however, the reverse is usually true.

Launch year Early 20th century Availability Worldwide Radio is the transmission of signals by modulation of electromagnetic waves with frequencies below those of visible light Electromagnetic radiation travels by means of oscillating electromagnetic fields that pass through the air and the vacuum of space. Information is carried by systematically changing ( modulating ) some property of the radiated waves, such as amplitude frequency phase , or pulse width. When radio waves pass an electrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. This can be detected and transformed into sound or other signals that carry information.

        How Radio Communication Works
Sound and radio waves are different phenomena . Sound consists of pressure variations in matter, such as air or water. Sound will not travel through a vacuum. Radio waves, like visible light, infrared, ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays, are electromagnetic waves that do travel through a vacuum. When you turn on a radio you hear sounds because the transmitter at the radio station has converted the sound waves into electromagnetic waves, which are then encoded onto an electromagnetic wave in the radio frequency range (generally in the range of 500-1600 kHz for AM stations, or 86-107 MHz for FM stations). Radio electromagnetic waves are used because they can travel very large distances through the atmosphere without being greatly attenuated due to scattering or absorption. Your radio receives the radio waves, decodes this information, and uses a speaker to change it back into a sound wave. An animated illustration of this process is given below (mouse-over the images for animations). A sound wave is produced with a frequency of 5 Hz - 20 kHz.
