My guess is that they were just creating panic and turmolt to burn some folks out and will quietly reach a "solution" later. You know they need to fail with these things, because otherwise it would mean that the situation can be controlled with the status quo in place and they want something else apparently. Was the same with Kyoto. Or the could have come to their senses. Naaaaaah, lol. They didn't, lol. They mentioned the Chinese are happy on the ticker.
Feel free to add results here as they come out.

REAGAN, Ronald (US President 40) “It is amazing what can be accomplished, if you don’t care who gets the credit.” (A sign above his desk).
WORTHWHILE QUOTES - for our benefit ACTON, Lord:
“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it." I am as sure as I am of my being, that one vigorous mind without office, without situation, without public functions of any kind, (at a time when the want of such a thing is felt, as I am sure it is) I say, one BUSH, BUSH, BYNES, CAREY, CARLYLE, CARNEGY, CAROLL, CASEY, CATHAY, CAVELTI, CELENTE, CERNAN, CHAMBERS, CHESTERTON, CHURCHILL, will "The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." CLARK

Rolando Hinojosa
Rolando Hinojosa is a major US writer from Texas. See his Biography He has peopled his novels with more than a thousand and four hundred characters, inhabiting his fictitious Belken county. This is an index of all the characters appearing in his novels. Rolando Hinojosa - The Novels Welcome to Belken County! The novels of Rolando Hinojosa have made this county in South Texas their home, and they have peopled it with roughly one thousand and four hundred more or less fictional characters. These characters (and others they have met or talk about) often appear in more than one novel, and our knowledge of them grows, if we remember them from earlier or later appearances. In what follows I have tried to compile a complete census of all characters in the novels, whether fictional or not. In case of changing or multiple names, I have added cross-references. As land-holding patterns and kinship networks are very important in Belken County, you will find some families included as a group. I have tried to be as accurate as possible, and page references are to the editions listed below. If you discover any omissions or mistakes, please write to me, and I will include any amendments into future editions of this census.
