http://www.stmarguerite.org/sacraments.html
Our CCD teachers, under the guidance of the Director of Religious Education, teach and also share this wonderful sacrament of faith, with our children. It is very important that parents bring their children to church especially for Mass and reinforce in the children the importance of the sacrament and reception of Eucharist.
First Communion is received at St. Marguerite's during the May of second grade.
Web Site Design By: WebNow1 - 11 Juniper Drive / New Milford, CT 06776 - 860.210.1281 A sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace. Each sacrament possesses the power from God to make the soul of the recipient holy and pleasing to Him. This supernatural power is termed sanctifying grace.
Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders are received once only because these sacraments imprint on the soul an indelible mark.
Confirmation is the sacrament through which the Holy Spirit comes to us in a special way and enables us to profess our faith as strong and perfect Christians and witnesses of Jesus Christ.
Children, who have received the sacraments of Penance and Holy Communion, are prepared through Religious Education Program. These children must attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, preferably with their parents.

THE PRIMARY PARENT
By Sari M. Friedman, Legal Counsel
Fathers Rights Association LI and NY So, you think you have been the primary parent. Years ago, determining this was not a real problem. It was assumed the mother was the best nurturer, the parent who was at HOME and able to spend the most quality time with a child. But for the last quarter of a century when women entered the work force, things have changed. As mothers have taken on the role of co-bread winner, fathers have assumed new roles and both or either parent may have also assumed many other societal problems including drugs, alcohol, and even philandering. So how does the judge now determine who is a "good " person and parent and the most suited to potentially continue to be primary parent? By checking against a list of standards that represent good parenting. Then considering the qualities of the parent in the totality of a best interest of the child analysis. GOOD PARENTING STANDARDS
  • Personal stability
    • No drug or alcohol abuse
    • No criminal activity
    • No habitual gambling
    • No record of violent behavior
    • No psychiatric problems that are severe enough to affect judgment
    • Does the parent interfere with the child's relationship with the other parent?

A vision of the future Hi-tech + deregulation In the future, scientific and technological progress will continue, and undesirable "side-effects" of ever more powerful technologies being deployed without wise social oversight (aka "competition", "free markets", etc.) will continue to get worse. Global warming, with its attendant ever more extreme weather, will force everyone to live in reinforced concrete bunkers even if their country is not at war. Loss of land area due to rising sea level may cause many of the less fortunate to live underground or under water. The atmosphere will be so poisonous and corrosive that anyone who has to venture out will need to wear a full-body diver's suit. The best part will be that, even though global pollution by ever more toxic radiation, chemicals, microbes, etc. will continue to "advance" and the earth come ever more closely to resemble Jupiter's volcanic satellite Io , technology will in parallel find ways to enable a still ever-growing population to live in the polluted environment. Everyone will have many cancers (etc.), but continuous life-long chemo-therapy will give them a long economically productive lifespan with IVs attached to their bodies

Religious Education Ministry A Religious Education Teacher is a responsible, sensitive person who understands and enjoys the age level of the students they choose to teach. One must have good listening and communication skills. A teacher must have the ability to provide a welcoming, secure learning environment while upholding rules and regulations. He or she must also be a positive adult role model. Support is available to help the teacher achieve these goals. Optional workshops for Catechists are available throughout the year. An Assistant Teacher provides the assistance needed to help the teacher achieve their goals.
