One of the world's "state of the art" skin cream.
The first thing I ask about any product I investigate is what the ingredients are, and what they do. But I didn't know the ingredients in this skin cream other than they were natural and safe. I had been working on a spot of skin cancer on my face, was getting nowhere, so it was worth a try... Now, of course, it's a different story. We know the ingredients, and we even know that the skin cream is used at some cancer clinics throughout the world. Safe, natural and effective, a winning combination.
Here's my situation when I got started.
A few weeks earlier my wife had finally threatened me enough to get me to go to the doctor to get a spot on my face looked at to see if it was cancer. It didn't take long. One look was enough. It was. Fortunately, just your typical, slow growing, not very dangerous type of skin cancer. The doc told me to make an appointment to get it taken off. I wasn't thrilled about that. Painful, leaves a scar, and costs more then I'd like to spend.
So, as I know a bit about cancer, I thought I'd first check out that black salve I had heard about for years. And I did. The results using it were impressive. It worked fast and got the job done. However, there were two major drawbacks in my mind.

Skin Cancer
Home Public Center Of all the cancers that humans can get, skin cancer is the most common. In the United States, skin cancer is increasing in all races.
Who gets skin cancer?
People of all colors and races get skin cancer. Those with light skin who sunburn easily have a higher risk. Risk factors include: sunburns, family history of skin cancer, exposure to x-rays, weakened immune system, scarring caused by a disease or burn, and exposure to cancer-causing compounds such as arsenic. Using indoor tanning devices such as tanning beds and sunlamps also increases the risk of developing skin cancer.
What does skin cancer look like?
There are different types of skin cancer, and each tends to look a bit different.
ACTINIC KERATOSES
These dry, scaly patches or spots are considered the earliest stage in the development of skin cancer. In rare cases, an actinic keratosis (AK) can progress to a type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). People who get AKs usually have fair skin. Most people see their first AKs after 40 years of age because AKs tend to develop after years of sun exposure. But even teens can have AKs when they live in sunny areas or use indoor tanning. AKs form on skin that gets lots of sun exposure, such as the head, neck, hands, and forearms. Because AKs increase the risk of getting SCC, AKs are usually treated. Proper use of sunscreens can help prevent AKs.

Very simply, sunburn and UV light can damage your skin, and this damage can lead to skin cancer. There are of course other determining factors, including your heredity and the environment you live in. However, both the total amount of sun received over the years, and overexposure resulting in sunburn can cause skin cancer. Most people receive 80% of their lifetime exposure to the sun by 18 years of age. The message to parents from this is to

The Burden of Skin Cancer
Exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays appears to be the most important environmental factor in developing skin cancer. This makes skin cancer a largely preventable disease when sun protective practices and behaviors are consistently applied and used. UV rays from artificial sources of light, such as tanning beds and sun lamps are just as dangerous as those from the sun, and should also be avoided. Unfortunately, despite the fact that both tanning and burning can increase one's risk of skin cancer, most Americans do not protect themselves from UV rays. Effective sun protection is practiced by less than one-third of U.S. youth. In a recent survey by the American Cancer Society of youth aged 11–18 years, routinely practiced sun-protection behaviors among young people on sunny days were wearing sunglasses (32%) or long pants (21%), staying in the shade (22%), and applying sunscreen (31%). Fifty-eight percent of those using sunscreen, used sunscreen with sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or more when at the beach or pool. A recent survey of parents of children under 12 years found that approximately 43% of white children experienced at least one sunburn in the past year.

    Introduction:
Skin cancer is usually a result of too much exposure to the sun. While skin cancer is the most common form of cancer, many types are both preventable and treatable. Skin cancer is classified into five different types: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form and accounts for 90% of all skin cancers. It starts in the basal cells, at the bottom of the epidermis (outer skin layer), and is caused by long-term exposure to sunlight. It is the most easily treated. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common type. It starts in the epidermis, eventually penetrating the underlying tissue if not treated. It is easily treated when found early, but in a small percentage of cases, this cancer spreads (metastasizes) to other parts of the body.

Skin Cancer Treatment and Prevention: Exploring Alternatives
This web site presents skin cancer treatment and prevention information to enable natural healing of squamous or basal cell carcinoma. Practical strategies for skin cancer prevention and treatment based on enhancing the body's natural defenses are provided, including descriptions of topical home remedies. With over a million new cases of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma now expected in the US each year, the results of promoting sun safety measures alone to prevent skin cancers have been less than successful. This complementary folk medicine approach identifies several important underlying causes of squamous or basal cell carcinoma beyond excessive sun exposure. Targeting the causes and mechanisms of skin cancer can lead to its control through changes in lifestyle, diet, cosmetics, and nutritional supplements. Contemporary skin cancer prevention advice focuses on stopping cell damage from ultraviolet radiation by minimizing sun exposure and liberally applying sunscreens . Yet for many people, following this advice may not be effective. Sun avoidance does not address existing damage to skin cells and can lead to deficiencies of

Share What Is Skin Cancer? Skin cancer is a disease in which cancer (malignant) cells are found in the outer layers of your skin. There are several types of cancer that originate in the skin. The most common types are basal cell carcinoma (70 percent of all skin cancers) and squamous cell carcinoma (20 percent). These types are classified as nonmelanoma skin cancer. Melanoma (five percent of all skin cancers) is the third type of skin cancer. It is less common than basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer, but potentially much more serious. Other types of skin cancer are rare. Basal Cell Carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer. It typically appears as a small raised bump that has a pearly appearance. It is most commonly seen on areas of the skin that have received excessive sun exposure. These cancers may spread to the skin around the cancer but rarely spread to other parts of the body. Squamous Cell Carcinoma is also seen on the areas of the body that have been exposed to excessive sun (nose, lower lip, hands, and forehead). Often this cancer appears as a firm red bump or ulceration of the skin that does not heal. Squamous cell carcinomas can spread to lymph nodes in the area.

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. More than one million cases are diagnosed each year, and according to current estimates, 40% to 50% of Americans will have skin cancer at least once by the time they are age 65.
    Types of Skin Cancer
The two most common kinds of skin cancer: Basal cell carcinoma accounts for more than 90% of all skin cancers. It is a slow-growing cancer that seldom spreads to other parts of the body. However, if left untreated, it can spread to nearby areas and invade bone and other tissues under the skin. Squamous cell carcinoma is much less common than basal cell carcinoma. It can be more aggressive than basal cell carcinoma and is also more likely to grow deep below the skin and spread to distant parts of the body. These types of skin cancer are sometimes called nonmelanoma skin cancer. When they are found early, there is nearly a 100% chance for cure.
