Director's Corner
Last month, the National Honor Society at the School of the Incarnation conducted their second Halloween Run fundraiser, and once again donated the proceeds to our program. This year's run was more successful than last year's, and we are grateful for their generosity and their consideration for Special Olympics Anne Arundel County. Thank you for your dedication and hard work in support of our efforts. We certainly do appreciate all that you did for us! Jody Grande has volunteered to take on the duties of Volunteer Coordinator. Please contact Jody to inquire about volunteer opportunities with Special Olympics Anne Arundel County. Thank you Jody! I wish to make athletes, parents, and caregivers aware that after discussions with Special Olympics, Inc., and Special Olympics North America, Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD) will be enforcing age group regulations for teams in the upcoming sports season. The age groupings that SOMD will use are 8 - 11, 12 - 15, 16 - 21, 22 - 39, 40 and over. Additional groups may be possible in the 22 and over group, depending on the numbers of adult participants. The regulatory article, Article 1 of the Sports Rules is available on Special Olympics USA's web site. See
