    Reading Services
At Dallas Reading and Language Services we help school-age children through therapy programs and techniques to greatly improve speech, language and reading skills. Our therapeutic approach helps a child change how he or she processes or thinks about sounds and language. Speech therapy is provided by a licensed and board certified Speech-Language Pathologist. We also provide services to toddler and pre-school age children in the areas of speech and language. Speech-language therapy with pre-schoolers is provided within a context of literacy and learning basic concepts. The main reading programs at Dallas Reading and Language Services are LiPS , (LindaMood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing), an Orton-Gillingham based program, and a Speech Cue program for younger children. All of these are multi-sensory methods of learning, and adapted to best meet the needs of the child. Reading programs are integrated into school-age children's speech or language therapy. We also address both language and reading comprehension through therapy aimed at improving the child's visual imagery and language processing skills.

What Exactly IS a Speech Therapist?
Speech therapy involves the treatment of speech and communication disorders - which means it's a very wide-ranging field. A certified speech pathologist (sometimes called a therapist) must hold a master's degree. That person may work in a private setting, a clinic, a school or an institution, and may well work as part of an educational team. They use a wide range of tools and interventions, ranging from toys and play-like therapy to formal tests and speech curricula.
