I think most of the Dagstorps on that map are farms. Only one of them, the one near K vlinge in Malm hus county (now called Sk ne county), is a parish church.

I think most of the Dagstorps on that map are farms. Only one of them, the one near Kävlinge in Malmöhus county (now called Skåne county), is a parish church.
Why so many? Dag is an old Scandinavian name, less common now but probably more so back several hundred years ago. 'Torp' is Swedish for a kind of cottage farm. Farms were often given names and many are quite ancient. It's not much of a stretch to suppose folks in a particular locale would call a farm owned by a someone named Dag, 'Dag's torp'. The name was common enough that it showed up in several places around Sweden.

Tiphys,
Bark(h)agl, Ufvered, Westengotlan probably is Barkagl=Barkagården in the
Parish of Uvered (old spelling Ufvered), in the province Västergötland (old
spelling Westergötland). Mansage=Månsagården in the same parish and
province. Gården is the same as the farm. Greetings from Västergötland not far from Uvered! Look at my home pages, too!
