All too often we are reminded that terrorism continues to inflict pain and suffering on people’s lives all over the world. Almost no week goes by without an act of terrorism taking place somewhere in the world, indiscriminately affecting innocent people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Countering this scourge is in the interest of all nations and the issue has been on the agenda of the United Nations for decades. Sixteen universal instruments (thirteen instruments and three amendments) against international terrorism have been elaborated within the framework of the United Nations system relating to specific terrorist activities. Member States through the General Assembly have been increasingly coordinating their counter-terrorism efforts and continuing their legal norm-setting work. The Security Council has also been active in countering terrorism through resolutions and by establishing several subsidiary bodies. At the same time a number of programmes, offices and agencies of the United Nations system have been engaged in specific activities against terrorism, further assisting Member States in their counter-terrorism efforts.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Title: Rise of Domestic Terrorism and Its Relation to United States Armed Forces Author: LCDR Steven Mack Presley, MSC, USN 19 April 1996 Thesis: Extremist and potentially terroristic groups have, to some extent, infiltrated and negatively impacted on the morale and cohesiveness of individual military personnel and units. Racial, religious and political ideological differences will continue to exist within and among active duty military personnel, primarily as a reflection of the same issues in the civilian society. Fair and effective means of limiting the involvement of active-duty military personnel in extremist organizations will require aggressive education and training at all levels, particularly among new recruits. It took twenty one years, but the makers of Trilogy of Terror got to do another bad TV movie. Maybe it took that long to get someone to pony up funds for another one, since the first was so bad, cult following or not. I was just as annoyed by the obvious "Insert Commercial Here" fade-outs as I was in the first one, but the storytelling was vastly improved in this go-round. This had a couple of things going for it that the other did not: special effects are much cheaper in the 90's, and easier to do; higher production values; better stories and pacing; an honest scare or twone; and in the Karen Black role, 's Lysette Anthony. While Anthony isn't a great talent, she is quite lovely and can do a convincing American accent. The first story was well-told, though predictable. The second story was creepy, if overlong, and boasts an honest gasp-inducing scare at the end. The third segment is a remake/retelling-in-sequel-form of the Zuni Fetish Doll segment from the first Trilogy. Sadly, though the woman besieged by the possessed doll is now a scientist (hurray Feminism!), she is just as stupid as the woman twenty years ago was (hurray Misogynism!). And she makes all the same (what the hell?) mistakes. In the end, though unsatisfying, both tyranist and I knew it could have been worse. After all, the first one was.

Rish Outfield's reviews
This is a made for TV movie from the Seventies. That should tell you something. But it was neither well-made, well-acted, well-paced, or even a good indication of what a TV movie in the 70's was like. It was unoriginal, ineffective, not at all scary, predictable, and boring. Boring is bad, folks. Now, it is true that before MTV people had longer attention spans, but it's also true that watching grass grow was dull a thousand years ago too. Long, rambling, poorly-told tales were boring in Bill Shakespeare's day too, boys and girls. There are a couple of familiar faces in this (particularly "Police Academy"'s George Gaines), but they are wasted. Karen Black isn't terrible (very melodramatic sometimes, yes), but the material is so stifling even Meryl Streep couldn't make it compelling. Some anthologies are pretty good (check out Creepshow or Twilight Zone: The Movie , for instance), but this was remarkable in how bad they all were. Yes, you hear a lot about the Zuni Fetish Doll segment, and while the doll was cool-looking, there have been several creatures that were cooler (the

17-month-old with colic?
June 2003 Hi, My baby is about 17 mon now. He recently started that non- stopping, colic like crying or screaming, mostly in the middle of the sleep or nap time. He cried and cried until he lost his voice. and Nothing seems to comfort him. He's been teething for a couple months and was doing fine. and I checked his temperature. It doesn't look like an ear infection. What could be the cause. I'm so tired and frustrated about not being able to do anything to stop him. Does anyone have any sugestion? Thanks Qi
