Tex: bibtex journal abbreviations
Comments (3) Hi,
References are formatted differently in many journals. Some
require abbreviated journal names, others long (the original
journal) names. Once BibTeX knows about abbreviations it does not
have a problem formatting these (i.e. with or without
my issue at the moment.
So far I have a file for "long" and "short" (abbr.) citations and
replace the name of the journal by a keyword once I actually cite
them. I.e.
,[ journall.bib ]
,[ journals.bib ] ,[ test.bib ] ,[ junk.tex ] in the first place is that I normally download the entry directly by the journal), sometimes in other formats which I than convert. This has the advantage of excluding typos and including format: some export abbreviated versions, others long versions. There seem to be a few lists offered by different libraries with journal names and there abbreviations. For example: http://library.caltech.edu/reference/abbreviations/ http://www.library.ubc.ca/scieng/coden.html http://home.ncifcrf.gov/research/bja/ My questions: Is there a simpler approach?
