Chicago Stage Style Coming January 1! Beginning January 1, 2011 Steadstyle Chicago will officially become Chicago Stage Style. You will still find us at the same location, as well as at chicagostagestyle.com, chicagotheatrecritic.com, chicagotheatrereviews.com and chicagotheatrelive.com. The name change will better reflect what this web site is all about as we strive to bring our readers all the best in Chicago theatre and performing arts. Chicago has long been renowned for its innovations in the arts and architecture. While it has earned its nickname as the Second City, within the past two decades it has also become one of the most vital and important theatre cities in America. According to a 2009 report from the League of Chicago Theatres, "Each season, Chicago boasts more than 200 producing theater companies, a total 115 performance venues with 5 million tickets sold annually and an average ticket price of only $23." Our downtown Loop is bustling with over a dozen major venues hosting a wide array of live theatre and performing arts. Broadway in Chicago brings the cream of Broadway plays and musicals to beautiful and historic venues, including the Auditorium, Cadillac Palace, Bank of America and Ford Center Oriental Theatres.

THE NATIONAL THEATRE : BEHIND THE SCENES
The National Theatre has been called a castle, a cathedral, a temple of art, a palace of culture and a nuclear-power station. But the theatre's idea of itself is changing. What was once a spot for earnest plays and capital-A "Art" has become a friendlier, sunnier place with the vitality of a carnival. Brian Harris , a former chief photographer of the Independent , spent a month behind the scenes capturing preparations for "War Horse", a National hit that is now earning ovations on the West End.

CTV handled the programming throughout the rest of the week, on the weekends, and during the summer months. In the summer of 2009, Knox County Schools became responsible for all of the programming on the channel and The WISE Channel became known as
