THEORETICAL PHYSICS
Curiosity about the world and a commitment to solving problems - these are the passions that drive the theoretical physics group at the University of Sydney. The aim of the group is to carry out internationally competitive research in theoretical physics. There are two main emphases: plasma physics, including applications to astrophysics, space physics and laboratory experiments; and electromagnetic theory and photonics , including wave theory, and linear, nonlinear and guided optics. Other interests include quantum optics, quantum electrodynamics, statistical physics and biophysics. The members of the Research Centre for Theoretical Astrophysics (RCFTA) and the Center for Wave Physics are part of the Theoretical Physics group. The RCFTA undertakes research in theoretical astrophysics with special emphasis on the fundamental physics of stars and on the physics of non-thermal phenomena. The aims of the Center for Wave Physics are to integrate expertise in the various components of wave science to generate new insights into fundamental wave science across disciplines. Associated groups include the Optical Fibre Technology Centre , the Photonics CRC and the VisLab computer visualization centre.

From the first college observatory in the US to new telescopes in Chile and South Africa, astrophysics has become a major part of the department, covering topics from stellar evolution to explosive phenomena to cosmology.
Problems in biology, such as, for instance, the human genome or the brain, are increasingly attracting the attention of physicists. At UNC, biological physicists develop models for information processing in the brain and develop techniques to manipulate biological tissue on nanoscales.
Condensed matter physics at Carolina comprises several theoretical and experimental research projects. The topics of research are range from ab initio calculations of material structure in fullerenes to Zeeman splitting measurements in one-dimensional conductors.
Building on a Carolina tradition in theoretical physics, the GCHEP group focuses on all aspects of gravity and cosmology including black holes, dark matter, dark energy, cosmic background radiation, and inflation. Of equal importance is high energy physics including the standard model of particle phenomenology and its extension to accommodate neutrino mass, CP violation and aspects of gravity and cosmology.
Gravitational physics research at UNC includes a number of topics, including black hole collisions, the formulation of the Einstein equations as an initial value problem, and quantum gravity.

Star systems are atoms? This work maps all celestial objects to their quantum counterparts mathematically. It details that star and atomic systems are the same thing at two different points on the velocity spectrum. The mathematical observations in this work are simple and extremely interesting. This book was a personal project. It is an initial attempt at aggregating a collection of theories derived by this book’s author over the course of a decade through numerous thought and empirical experiments surrounding the notion of relative realities into a clear list of interrelated Universal principles. This collective theory is a possible candidate for a unification theory and also contributes to a theory of everything physical. The accumulative drive of these theories and principles pushes a very real underlining revision on the perception of everything. It is a must read for anyone truly interested in understanding our Existence.

A NEW PHYSICS THEORY LIFE and INTELLIGENCE James A. Putnam A new physics theory based upon the premise that all theory should be reducible to empirical properties. The two empirical properties from which all mechanical knowledge is gained are distance and time. The fundamentals of theoretical physics are redefined to reflect this premise. The essays lead to an explanation for the existence of human free will. The physics theory supports the explanation. THEORY CONTENTS htm pdf COMPLETE THEORY pdf THEORY PAGE GROUPS 141-End htm 141-End pdf PLEASE USE YOUR BACK ARROW TO RETURN HERE ESSAYS: PHYSICS, LIFE and INTELLIGENCE Email Picture pdf INTRODUCTION pdf Version) This theory is almost completely different from current theoretical physics. For example the theory includes a new definition of electric charge. This definition has an effect that reaches into all areas of physics theory. It helps toward achieving unity at the fundamental level. The theory offers new definitions for many fundamental properties. These definitions lead to new interpretations inconsistent with popular theoretical ideas. Rather than coin new words and names causing unnecessary difficulty in communication, I borrow common physics terminology. My approach to introducing the theory is to move, step by step, away from accepted fundamental theoretical interpretations. I feel it is best to carry along familiar concepts as long as is practical. I think this method reduces the uncomfortable feeling that often accompanies first impressions of radical changes. In addition, this gives me the opportunity to demonstrate it is possible to combine ideas from standard accepted concepts with new ideas that bring sweeping changes.

cooled by bozon idea by siren Sat Jul 29 2000 at 2:09:48 Theoretical physics ( IMHO Theoretical physics attempts to gain knowledge about the world by abstract ing the physical ly important information in a system and then playing with the abstraction. Any system has a huge amount of information associated with it and it is beyond our ability to deal with all of this information so we try to simplify and idealise the system . If we are looking at a ball rolling down a hill then the colour of the ball will usually not be important, perhaps we will neglect the air resistance, treat the ball as a point like particle . This is the process of making a model , later we may find that we wish to refine our model our throw it out in favor of some radically different model. Having deep physical insight is often connected with the ability to find the important parts of a system to model or understanding the weaknesses and strengths of different models. Richard P. Feynman
