From what I've heard, I think they mate with vents in their body. The male puts his vent close to the female's and injects sperm into it. I'm not sure, but I've heard stories

Asian Water Dragon, Chinese Water Dragon, Green Water Dragon, Thai Water Dragon: Physignathus sp. Species, Range and Description P. cocincinus . Eastern and southeastern Thailand, eastern Indochina, southern China.
P. lesueurii . Eastern/southeastern Australia (Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria) Water dragons are native to the Southeast Asian mainland and Indo-Australian archipelago. Most imports arrive from Thailand or southern China. Males typically reach 3 feet; females are somewhat smaller. Males develop larger heads, jowls and crest on the back of the neck, and their femoral pores are somewhat larger than on the female. Always have new animals checked by a vet for internal and external parasites (bring a fresh fecal sample if you can - or get one to the vet at the soonest opportunity), hydration, nutritional status and overall health. Captive Environment
You will need a large enclosure, one larger than most people think will be needed by a lizard of this size. The reason most are missing much of their faces, rubbed off from the snout back past the front teeth, is that water dragons will literally rub their flesh off and break their jaw bones trying to get out of a too small enclosure. They need space at least 2 x their total length - so you are talking min 6 ft long (side to side), at least 2-3 feet deep and 4-6 feet high to do it right.

Australian Water Dragons
Physignathus Lesueurii
The Australian Water Dragon is a lizard native only to Australia where it is found mainly in the North East. In these areas it is reasonably common. It is greeny brown in colour (sometimes called the "brown water dragon") with a banded tail. The body also has less prominent bands. It usually grows to around two feet in length but males can reach up to three feet on occasion.
There are two subspecies: Physignathus lesueurii lesueurii , the "Eastern Water Dragon", which has a dark band behind the eye and Physignathus lesueurii howitti , the "Gippsland water dragon", which has bands down the throat.
Water dragons are semi-aquatic and semi-arboreal - they like both trees and water. The Australian Water Dragon can stay submerged for up to 30 minutes at a time. It then pokes its head up for air and checks whether or not it is safe to emerge.
Water dragons are omniverous. They will occasionally eat fruit or vegetables however they like a lot of meat. In the wild they eat frogs, rodents and small birds.
When properly cared for, water dragon lizards have been known to live up to 18 years in captivity.

Snout Rubbing- Effects of, and Prevention
Index
What do the effects of Snout Rubbing look like?
I'm frequently asked- "What does the effects of nose rubbing look like on a WD nose? Is it a pus-filled bump that I should be looking for or discoloration? Maybe it's flesh degradation?" It can be as mild as slightly darkened skin on the snout, slight bruising, or more moderate such as a scab, skin and tissue scraped off, reddened areas, swelling, or severe- damaged tissue accompanied by cheesy white pus, reddened areas and swelling ... Of course even a slightly darkened area on the skin can have a raging infection going on underneath. :( Once the dragon actually starts to lose tissue from it's snout you can count that damage as permanent. :( Unless it's very mild damage to a scale, the tissue will not grow back. If infection sets in and you can't control it with neosporin or an antibiotic ointment then the next step is prescribed antibiotics from the vet.
