The Problem Americans generally believe that their Constitution guarantees their freedom to worship as they please. That is a false belief. The USA Constitution recognizes that right: it is the citizen's duty (and obligation) to defend it. If this were Pangloss’s "best of all possible worlds" ( Candide, by Voltaire), the United States government would defend that right against people who would deny other people that right. It does not. Understanding Fundamentalism. Today in the United States Wiccans are submitted to an astonishing amount of abuse by people who object to their choice of worship (see "A Fundamentalist Christians Speaks Against Wiccans" for one person's "justification" for that abuse). The fact is that Wicca is eclectic and non-dogmatic and thus there is no danger in becomming another People's Temple or anything like it. And yet Wiccan clergy are still denied clerical privilages such as performing weddings, and even the USA Army at

Quotation:
"Things that are outside the mainstream bother people. They want to suppress speech that doesn’t agree with their idea of they way things should be. If we don’t protect the Wiccan free speech right, then the Baptist and Catholic free speech rights are at risk." Joe Cook, ACLU representative in Los Angeles
Background:
Wiccans and other Neopagans have traditionally kept a very low profile in North America, in order to minimize becoming victims of physical and economic attacks. Some religious groups still confuse modern-day Wiccans with the imaginary images of Satan-worshiping Witches that were promoted by Christian societies during the Burning Times. The result has been one lynching, one attempted mass murder by stoning, and numerous firebombings, shootings, and assaults in the U.S. in recent years. Unfortunately, hiding has its disadvantages some people assume that Neopagans are engaged in activities that require stealth.

In order to serve the Wiccan and pagan community, we offer online Outer Spiral instructional classes free of charge to qualified adult students at every experience level. This is a learning-focused coven, and our students are expected to think a lot, write a lot, and devote a good amount of time to their spiritual growth.

Coven of The Far Flung Net
Welcome to our informational pages on the Coven of the Far Flung Net. If you are interested in joining CFFN, it is essential that you carefully read the following pages so that you know exactly what to expect. CFFN was the internet's first true online coven when it was chartered in 1997. Its mission statement was to teach the first two circles of Universal Eclectic Wicca, a Wiccan tradition that teaches a strong core of Wiccan practice with the expectation that students will master the basics while learning to tailor their practices to their individual needs -in other words, ethical and responsible eclecticism- eclecticism that begins with an understanding of the core values and theology of Wicca and differs from that core by choice, not chance. In other words, a student of UEW may choose to do things completely differently from the core, but they wouldn't do so until they understood why that core was there and had a good reason to differ from it.
To say the general Wiccan community has changed demographically since 1997 is one heck of an understatement, and CFFN has changed to meet the new demographic, but not to

About WRCF Events Membership Contact Us ... Site Map Welcome! At the annual meeting in July, two important decisions were made.
The first decision involves a review and revision of our bylaws. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the bylaws, trying to navigate and understand the current document almost takes a law degree. It is a convoluted mix of definitions, rules and regulations and legal jargon. A committee was formed and charged with the task to review and revise the bylaws, allowing for easier day to day operation of the organization. A draft of the proposed changes will be submitted to the voting members in the next few months.
The second decision was to create a new image for WRCF. When WRCF incorporated, Wicca was the only Pagan religion accepted by the federal government. In the 21 years since then, a lot has changed. Our current membership consists of many pagan paths and our name should reflect this. In order to preserve our heritage, we plan on keeping the current corporate name and adopt a formal nickname, also known as a DBA (“Doing Business As”).
We would like the members and the community to share their suggestions with us via e-mail at name@wrcf.org

    Society of Elder Faiths
Building a vibrant Pagan community in Massachusetts since 1996
The Society of Elder Faiths (SEF) is a Pagan religious organization incorporated as a church under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The SEF was founded by elders of five Wiccan covens in order to provide services to the local Pagan community which require a larger scale, more formal organizational structure than our individual covens can comfortably offer.
The SEF exists to worship the Goddess and the Old Gods, to teach the principles of our faith, to celebrate the rites of our religion, to realize fellowship and unity within our membership and among the elder faiths, to render loving service to the Earth and all Her inhabitants, and to promote the understanding of our faith.
We sponsor Sabbats, social and seasonal ritual events such as the Lammas Faire, Fall and Spring retreats, and other gatherings. We sponsor special Sabbats for Pagan families through the Pagan Family Connection and special classes for teens and tweens. Our Sabbat rituals are open to all; we also offer several forum classes yearly for members only.

@import url(http://www.homestead.com/~media/elements/Text/font_styles.css); I finally did it, I pulled down www.jackowitch.com. I am putting my efforts elsewhere. There was a ton of good information on this site, and don't worry, I still have it all. You may sign my guestbook if you need special info that was located here. In the future this site may be back up as an informational site. I can't really call it a community site anymore since Jacksonville, NC has had a serious lapse in community, and active Pagans are harder and harder to find. So we have our Coven, and have stopped really trying to hold together anything for Jacksonville as a whole. I suspect now that we are officially done someone will come out with a "need" for community with Pagans. Good luck with that around here. The people I have met and Circled with in the past decade have been great, and I have met my dearest and best friends through here - and it isn't over by far, but this time, I am taking a for real break and focusing on my Family, my Coven, my Friends, and my work. Good luck to everyone looking for good Pagan information and contacts. I am finally working on my other Pagan site, and if you know me or have been here before, you should know where that is. If not, guestbook it I can email you.

Please do not email me negative messages. If you have any questions about Wicca or Witchcraft please don't hesitate to send me a message, or visit one of my many links. An Introduction: Well, my Wiccan name is fairwind and I have just recently been studying Wicca through the internet (over the course of a year, so far). I was amazed at the spiritual aspects of the religion and craft, as well as the ancestral links it has to my family. At first I decided to make this page into my Book of Shadows, but I decided that I should let the General Public know that Wicca is not evil when used for the right purpose and is defined as a religion. Many people are prejudice against Wiccan people. I think this is wrong. The way of Wicca is not to convert, but to inform those who want to be. Wiccans respect other beliefs so please respect ours. We believe in a Goddess and a God. There are many other deities involved as well, but this mainly depends on your own perspective. The main focus of our religion is the Goddess and Self. Discovering Self is the first step to discovering the Goddess.
