But, then why did it work elsewhere? It would be painful if you had to declare the character set each time for every character-based column. So, MySQL lets you define the default character set for the table, and each character column will inherit that specification. The table inherits from the database setting and the database inherits the systemwide setting. So, visually inspecting the CREATE TABLE statement may not be sufficient. In our case, the first table had been created when we had been using a systemwide default character set of latin1. We had since changed to using utf8. Since the columns that were being referenced in the constraint were varchars, the character set needed to be the same. This would not have been an issue, of course, if the columns had been integers or some other non character-based column. Photo: DERM When wombats walk, their long behinds sway from side to side. This feature, combined with a large head and habits such as curling up to rest on their sides or sitting on their haunches with their forepaws folded in front, make wombats seem to be slow and clumsy. However, appearances are deceptive. Wombats can move fast - up to 40 km/h over a short distance! They are also able to survive long harsh droughts which are fatal to other animals.

Australia has three species of wombat.
Northern hairy nosed wombat As the largest of the three wombats, the northern hairy-nosed wombat can weigh up to 40 kg and be more than one metre long. Compared with the common wombat, hairy-nosed wombats have softer fur, longer and more pointed ears and a broader muzzle fringed with fine whiskers. They are generally nocturnal but have been seen sunning themselves in the late afternoon winter/autumn sun. At Epping Forest National Park (Scientific), northern hairy-nosed wombats are known to have lived for 26 years.

Genera and Species Wombats are Australian marsupials ; they are short-legged, muscular quadrupeds tail . They are found in forested, mountainous, and heathland areas of south-eastern Australia and Tasmania . The name wombat comes from the Eora Aboriginal community who were the original inhabitants of the Sydney area.
    Contents
    edit Characteristics
Wombats dig extensive burrow systems with rodent-like front teeth and powerful claws. One distinctive adaptation of wombats is their backwards pouch. The advantage of a backwards-facing pouch is that when digging, the wombat does not gather dirt in its pouch over its young. Although mainly crepuscular and nocturnal , wombats will also venture out to feed on cool or overcast days.

Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat Lasiorhinus latifrons Kingdom: Animalia
    Phylum: Chordata
    Class: Mammalia
    Order: Diprotodontia
    Family: Vombatidae
    Genus Lasiorhinus
Species: Lasiorhinus latifrons The above Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat was photographed at Yarrawong Sanctuary. It is vulnerable to extinction Southern Hairy-nosed Wombats are similar in size to Common Wombats, but they have softer, silkier, grey fur, longer ears and fine fur on their much broader nose. It is a marsupial mammal indigenous to Australia and totally protected in South Australia. The southern hairy-nosed wombat is a squat quadruped with short, thick limbs that are equipped with short flattened claws. Its tail is reduced. Its proportions are typical of digging mammals. These are the smallest of the wombats, attaining a meter in length at most. They have a large, broad head that sports small eyes and pointed ears. The fur of this wombat covers the entire body, including the nose, hence its name. The term 'Wombat' refers to any of the three species of Wombats.
