Political Organization
I am a trained academic with a PhD in Nineteenth-Century American Literature with a specialty in African-American Literature. I have 15+ years of university-level teaching experience which dovetails nicely with my related skills as a writer/editor, public speaker and community educator, project and personnel manager. I have six years experience working in not-for-profit as the executive director of a county political party, services provider for a rape crisis center and community educator and women's advocate for two shelters for battered women. I would like to further my experience in educating and motivating students/employees to achieve their best results and further the initiatives of progressive organizations dedicated to issues such as Democratic progress or ending violence against women.
