H ear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee! Out of the depths of life the song of the psalmist reaches beseeching hands. In burning words it says what human beings of all races, in all lands and ages have tried to say to God. Help me ... Heal me ... Love me ... Inspire me. Wind could have parted Red Sea for Moses: study
A study of Nile delta waterways has suggested that it would have been quite possible for the Red Sea to part in a way similar to the manner described in Exodus. The study is part of a larger investigation of the effect of winds on water depths, by the US National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). According to computer simulations, it is possible that a constant wind speed of 63mph could have been enough to push back...

The Zoroastrian Religion, by many perceived as a dualistic ancient religion, on  the contrary is in fact the First Universal and Monotheistic Religion in History, once the State Religion  of the Persian Empires, ruling over half the then known world.
Zoroastrianism is thus not an oriental mystic sect or cult of so called "fire worshippers", but a World Religion for all Mankind. Suppressed and forgotten by the World during thousands of years, it is time to recall that God was realized in the Profound Teachings of Zarathustra (also known by his Greek name Zoroaster), thousand and more years before any prophet brought "divine revelations".
Where later prophets described God in rather "human" terms, Zarathustra never did. He realized a Supreme Being, who is independent of being worshipped and obeyed and thus is NOT about fear, guilt, torment and condemnation. Instead your best friend, incapable of doing harm ...
There are neither sins nor sinners in God's eyes, neither condemnation nor damnation in God's heart and thus there will be no Last Day of Judgement.

Introduction
see list of world religions table ). In investigating these religions, we find that their appearance in the world coincided with numerous Biblical events. However, because the Bible was never meant to be a commentary of secular history, the emergence of many of these larger, dominant groups was not mentioned in the scriptures. The Bible, especially the Old Testament, primarily outlines the history of a small, Semitic, Mediterranean band of Hebrew people. Their records reveal three things: 1. how Israel was supposed to worship Yahweh and treat each other. 2. the prophecies of their seers concerning world events and the coming of the Savior. 3. the history of Israel with various nations. Although the scriptures illustrate Hebrew seers having direct communication with Spirit, the Bible also showed that Yahweh has communicated with Gentiles kings and prophets. Some of them, such as Baalam the prophet (Num. 24:16-17) and King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (Dan. 2:44-46), prophesied the coming of the Savior. Clearly, the Gentiles worshipped a Creator according to their imagination. Paul said:

The pious Jew and even a pious [Muslim] may hope for God’s pardon.  Forgiveness as a real gift, the full assurance of forgiveness, that is the gift of the Gospel." -Hermann Sasse, Treasury of Daily Prayer (Concordia)

Other websites Buddhism vs. Christianity. A resource for further study: Last modified: August 16, 2010 visitors: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE MAJOR WORLD RELIGIONS FROM A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE by Ernest Valea The goal According to the pattern suggested by this tale, it is often said that world religions form a unity, and only this unity provides the right perspective on ultimate truth. A similar syncretistic trend is encouraged by the suggestion to consider the various world religions as alternative paths to the same transcendental finality or, using a known illustration, many paths to the same mountain peak. Although this vision is arousing a lot of enthusiasm in many people today, it is important to know that it is not the only one, as Christianity and Islam each claim to be the only right path to God. Therefore the other option is that world religions are not pieces of the same puzzle (parts of the same spiritual "elephant") or alternative paths to the same goal. Theoretically, both possibilities exist. Therefore, a proper evaluation of such opposite views must be done before we decide on a course of action. If the first is true (all religions lead us to the same finality), and we choose the second (only one of them is right), we have not lost anything. Despite our ignorance, we will arrive at the same happy end as the other travelers who have chosen other spiritual paths. A less happy situation would be given by the second possibility, that a single spiritual path is valid and we have chosen the wrong one. In this case religious syncretism misleads travelers to spiritual disaster, so they at least should be warned. A third possibility, that all spiritual paths are wrong, is denied by the nature of our spiritual quest itself, which demands a real fulfillment. Otherwise, our hunger for ultimate truth could not be justified and all religions would be nothing but human fantasy.

world religions - one world, many faiths
The purpose of this section is to bring to you a hub of internet resources relating to the religons of the world. This is in the traditional definition, in which a high degree of organisation will likely be involved, in terms of rites and doctrine, even where different sects may disagree with one another. For the moment enjoy what we have made available for your convenience. The section on Hinduism is by far the most complete, and there is plenty of information in the section on Confucianism. The Christianity section often links offsite - but does host the largest online collection of New Testament Apocrypha on the internet. The section here on the world's religions is improving all of the time - interfaith.org is already proving to be a major internet resource for the study of world religions.

Religious Studies Department Inviting, and expecting, students to begin to look at issues from a new perspective "It is the duty of every
cultured man and woman to read sympathetically the scriptures of the world. If we are to respect others' religions as we would have them respect our own, a friendly study of the world's religions is a sacred duty."
Mohandas Gandhi
Contact Information: Virginia Wesleyan College 1584 Wesleyan Dr. Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA.23502 Welcome! The subject matter we teach is religious studies, and there are certain minimum facts which we hope students will learn. Students should be familiar with some places, some events, some dates, and some names. Without a knowledge of facts, students are unable to see strengths or weaknesses, they are unable to see trends, analogies, causes, or effects, they cannot begin to place their owns lives within a broader perspective. But when we teach, we are not only teaching facts. We teach a process of thinking; inviting and expecting students to begin to look at issues from a new perspective. We want students, for instance, to know why and how certain concepts, movements, or issues developed. We want them to come to some sort of conclusions about how Jesus and the Pharisees really were opponents, about how Christians and Muslims are truly different, about how the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Matthew disagree. We want students to learn to be fair about intellectual issues. In terms of Jesus and the Pharisees, what would Jesus see as the similarities and differences between him and them? What would the Pharisees emphasize? What would they agree on? In what activities could Christians and Muslims not participate together? How would the authors of the Gospels of Mark and Matthew disagree? How are we to understand their similarities? How do contexts shape rhetoric, actions, and thought?
