Contact Us Who We Are The Salmon Sub-Committee (SSC) is a public advisory body set up under the Umbrella Final Agreement. The Committee's main concern is the conservation of Yukon salmon stocks. With this guiding principle in mind, the Committee makes recommendations to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans or to Yukon First Nations on all matters related to Yukon salmon. Salmon Committee members also serve on the Yukon River Panel , which was established under the Yukon River Salmon Agreement. The Committee works closely with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Fish and Wildlife Management Board, Yukon First Nations, Renewable Resources Councils and the public. Your input is welcomed. The life cycle of the salmon is a remarkable event, which enriches the lives of all of the Yukon's inhabitants, both human and animal. Bear, eagles and many other birds and predators depend on salmon for their survival. For thousands of years, humans have also relied on salmon for food.
