Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) , Scottish author and creator of the oft-quoted detective-hero Sherlock Holmes wrote The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes It was on a bitterly cold and frosty morning, towards the end of the winter of '97, that I was awakened by a tugging at my shoulder. It was Holmes. The candle in his hand shone upon his eager, stooping face, and told me at a glance that something was amiss. "Come, Watson, come!" he cried. "The game is afoot. Not a word! Into your clothes and come!"from "The Adventure of the Abbey Grange" Inspired by Sir Walter Scott Robert Louis Stevenson Edgar Allan Poe Guy de Maupassant , and Emile Gaboriau , Arthur Conan Doyle's now-iconic mastermind sleuth and his companion Dr. John H. Watson redefined the detective

2. The summary
The Rabbitte family lives in Barrytown in Ireland. There are 8 people in the family: Ma (Veronica), Pa (Jimmy sr.), Jimmy jr., Sharon, Darren, Les, Tracy and Linda (they are twins).
In the beginning of the book Sharon tells her parents that she’s pregnant, but she wouldn’t say who the father is.
At first she wouldn’t tell anyone else that she’s pregnant, but after a while she tells it the rest of the family and her 3 best friends Jackie O’Keefe, Mary Curran and Yvonne Burgess. But she also doesn’t tell them who the father is.
Sharon’s father Jimmy sr. goes to a pub a lot. One of his friends, Bimbo Reeves, tells him that George Burgess, Yvonne’s father, had say that Sharon was a great little ride. Jimmy sr. is very angry and tells it to Sharon. She says she doesn’t care, but she goes to Mister Burgess. She says that if he would say anything about her again she would tell ‘it’ to Missis Burgess. This is the point in the book where you find out that Mister Burgess is Sharon’s Baby’s father.
A few days after this accident Mister Burgess walks away from home. He sends Sharon a letter that he wants to see her, but Sharon wouldn’t see him.

I have no data. It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data (Scandal in Bohemia) M y mind rebels at stagnation. Born at 4:55am or 5:08am LMT
Brother-in-law of 'E.W. Hornung' (qv).
He very nearly refused a knighthood from 'Queen Victoria' (qv) (for a book he had written on the Boer War) because he was convinced that he was being honored for his Sherlock Holmes stories.
He modeled Sherlock Holmes after a professor at the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Joseph Bell, who emphasized the importance of observation in diagnosis. He would often demonstrate this to his students by deducing the occupation and lifestyle of patients purely by his observations.
The day he finished the "final" Holmes story, "The Final Problem," his diary entry was pretty succinct: "Killed Holmes." In addition to writing detective stories, Doyle proved to be a capable amateur detective himself. One of his cases in which he proved a convicted person to be innocent led to the British system for appealing criminal cases.

He studied to be a doctor at the University of Edinburgh and set up a small practice at Southsea in Hampshire during his 20s. While the practice proved largely unsuccessful, the lack of patients provided him with the opportunity to create possibly the most popular character ever introduced in the history of fiction, Sherlock Holmes. While at University, Conan Doyle had been greatly influenced by Dr. Joseph Bell, one of his professors. Bell was an expert in the use of deductive reasoning to diagnose disease. Conan Doyle was so impressed that he used these same principles when creating his famous detective. Sherlock Holmes was introduced in A Study in Scarlet (1887), followed by
