Hack - a Win32 hex editor with REXX scripting
Welcome ! You've found Hack's home page. A public domain Win32 hex editor with rexx scripting. This means that all source code is available for downloading and can be reused in whatever way you want (except for the code I borrowed which generally has a specific OSI license).
What is it ?
(click on the image above to enlarge it) Hack is an hex editor designed to run under Win32 operating systems (which includes Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT and, probably, Windows ME, Windows 98 and Windows 95). It is written entirely in C using LCC-Win32 and is compilable with Borland C++ 5.5.1. Theses 2 compilers are available for free. With Hack, you can :
  • edit files directly in hex or ASCII mode disassemble anything in x86 assembly language write your own REXX script to suit your needs
Goals
Hack is primarily a way of understanding the Win32 API for me. But that doesn't mean Hack is unusable. Below are goals kept in mind when writing Hack :
  • small executable size runable without weighthy DLL (only one DLL : rexxtrans.dll

Mastering the VI editor (PDF format)
Index
Introduction
The VI editor is a screen-based editor used by many Unix users. The VI editor has powerful features to aid programmers, but many beginning users avoid using VI because the different features overwhelm them. This tutorial is written to help beginning users get accustomed to using the VI editor, but also contains sections relevant to regular users of VI as well. Examples are provided, and the best way to learn is to try these examples, and think of your own examples as well... There's no better way than to experience things yourself. EX Commands
Conventions
In this tutorial, the following convention will be used: ^X denotes a control character. For example, if you see: ^d in the tutorial, that means you hold down the control key and then type the corresponding letter. For this example, you would hold down the control key and then type d
Before You Begin
The VI editor uses the full screen, so it needs to know what kind of terminal you have. When you log in, wiliki should ask you what terminal you have. The prompt looks like this:

    74. The Clewn Project
Implementation of full gdb support in the vim editor.
    http://clewn.sourceforge.net/
Home Features Documentation Install ... Subversion Download clewn vimGdb
    What is Clewn ?
Clewn implements full gdb support in the vim editor: breakpoints, watch variables, gdb command completion, assembly windows, etc. This may be done with clewn or vimGdb. There is also a third way with pyclewn, a python program with more features than clewn and vimGdb, and a tight integration in Vim. See the pyclewn web site for a table listing the differences between all three programs. Clewn is a program controlling vim through the netBeans socket interface, it runs concurrently with vim and talks to vim. Clewn can only be used with gvim, the graphical implementation of vim, as vim on a terminal does not support netBeans. VimGdb is a vim patch implemented as a vim optional feature. Both alternatives use the same base source code to interface with gdb. Clewn, as a standalone process, needs its own terminal. This is not the case with vimGdb, but a drawback is that a different patch must be applied to each new Vim version. They both share the same features set, except clewn supports some features that vimGdb does not have:

Version 2.20 implements lexers as objects so they may retain additional state. The C++ lexer understands the preprocessor enough to grey-out code that is inactive due to conditional compilation. Scintilla is a free source code editing component. It comes with complete source code and a license that permits use in any free project or commercial product. As well as features found in standard text editing components, Scintilla includes features especially useful when editing and debugging source code. These include support for syntax styling, error indicators, code completion and call tips. The selection margin can contain markers like those used in debuggers to indicate breakpoints and the current line. Styling choices are more open than with many editors, allowing the use of proportional fonts, bold and italics, multiple foreground and background colours and multiple fonts. The SinkWorld project investigates possible future directions for Scintilla to make it more flexible, robust, perform better and run on the .NET and Java virtual machines.

    78. ..:: The Eddi Homepage: About Eddi ::..
    Tcl and tix based editor.
    http://eddi.sourceforge.net/
    About Eddi
Eddi is a very powerfull and easy to use editor. It is written by a person who did not like emacs, but needed a big editor nevertheless. Eddi has the advantage that it is extremely intuitive and therefore very easy to use. I personaly consider it as the best editor for X, that's the reason why I decided to maintain it: The original author, Holger Schanz, has disappeared and left some of his work undone. Eddi only needs tcl and tix Important for SuSE 8.0 users! SuSE 8.0 comes with a version of tix that contains a bug that prevents eddi from working in kde3, other distro's might also have this problem. A fix will soon be available, in the meantime you can use an older version of tix. It causes a startup error that can not be recovered, you should uninstall tix and get the version of suse 7.3 to get it working again, you can download this at:
    ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/7.3/suse/tcl1/tix.rpm

    or at:
    ftp://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/7.3/suse/tcl1/tix.rpm
Although windows is not the main development platform it is possible to run eddi under this OS. Read Eddi under Windows for instructions.

Quanta Plus is a highly stable and feature rich web development environment. The vision with Quanta has always been to start with the best architectural foundations, design for efficient and natural use and enable maximal user extensibility. We recognize that we don't have the resources to do everything we would like to so our target is to make it easy for you to help make this the best community based desktop application anywhere. Pretty much everything in Quanta is designed so you can extend it. Even the way it handles XML DTDs is based on XML files you can edit. You can even import DTDs, write scripts to manage editor contents, visually create dialogs for your scripts and assign script actions to nearly any file operation in a project. You can even look at and communicate with a wide range of what happens inside Quanta using DCOP.
Quanta is based on KDE so this means it is network transparent from any dialog or project. It can use not only FTP but other KDE KIO slaves from file dialogs or in project settings. For instance if you want secure access try the fish KIO slave that uses SSH. Just enter
