Kennedy Memorial website Robert Francis Kennedy was born on November 20, 1925, in Brookline, Massachusetts, the seventh child in the closely knit and competitive family of Rose and Joseph P. Kennedy. "I was the seventh of nine children," he later recalled, "and when you come from that far down you have to struggle to survive." He attended Milton Academy and, after wartime service in the Navy, received his degree in government from Harvard University in 1948. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School three years later. Perhaps more important for his education was the Kennedy family dinner table, where his parents involved their children in discussions of history and current affairs. "I can hardly remember a mealtime," Robert Kennedy said, "when the conversation was not dominated by what Franklin D. Roosevelt was doing or what was happening in the world." In 1960 he was the tireless and effective manager of John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign. After the election, he was appointed Attorney General in President Kennedy's cabinet. While Attorney General he won respect for his diligent, effective and nonpartisan administration of the Department of Justice.

Man of the year,
at Love Field, Dallas, Texas,
November 22, 1963 The youngest man ever to be elected to our nation's highest office, he had served as a United States Naval Officer in the South Pacific during World War II and there commanded the PT-109. During an attack by a Japanese cruiser, he is credited with saving the lives of his crew. On his return home following the war he was elected to the United States House of Representatives from Massachusetts and later to the United States Senate from that state. He was elected to the Presidency in November 1960, defeating then-Vice President Richard M. Nixon by one of the smallest margins in history. He was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963 as he rode in an open motorcade in that city. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery on November 25, 1963 and his gravesite is one of the most visited spots in the cemetery. He was moved from the original gravesite to one just a few feet away on March 14, 1967. His wife, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was laid to rest next to him when she died of cancer in 1994.

Basic Evidence of Conspiracy in the Assassination of President Kennedy If you've always wondered why people think there was a conspiracy - here's a quick little set of some of the basic glaring discrepancies in the government's case on this. The Posthumous Assassination of John F. Kennedy Why would one commit a political assassination if not to get rid of a perceived threat? The threat Kennedy's legacy posed was as big as the threat the man himself posed, if not bigger. It was not enough to kill the man, when so many grieved his passing. It became necessary to kill his reputation so that no one would care who killed him or what his death portended. Read a well-written discussion of this campaign, and how Sy Hersh's book is the latest in a long line of similar efforts. The Garrison Investigation and the Trial of Clay Shaw Jim Garrison was the New Orleans District Attorney who has so far been the only public official with any kind of authority to actually bring someone to trial for participation in a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy. Examine his case, and the FBI media assets working avowedly to undermine him. And hear Garrison put his own case forward, refuting his contemporary critics, in the

Welcome, Guest! Please register or sign in to fully access The Nook. Welcome to The Nook... The assassination of John F. Kennedy was not only a capital crime, but one which burgled Americans of their presidential vote - for on 22 November 1963 the government of the United States was changed, with no open polls, nor any votes cast. In the assassination's aftermath, the Warren Commission was established, ostensibly, to investigate the murder. Today its conclusions, regardless of one's personal view of them, echo long after the sound of gunfire in Dealey Plaza.
