It was a time of transitions where the barriers between this world and the next seemed lower and realm of the supernatural came into everyday life. It is a truly encouraging vision of heaven filled to the brim with people from everywhere. On the day following All Souls we have the equally beautiful feast of All Souls when we come into an especially close communion with our loved one who have gone before us, we pray for them and we remember them. Those we remember in this way are alive in our hearts and we are linked to them in a radical solidarity, which we know as the communion of saints, a deep source of hope for us all. This beautiful vision is summed up in the reading from St. Paul, which we hear at mass on that day - �Hope is not deceptive because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit�.
