About: Nennius An Entity of Type : historian , from Named Graph : http://dbpedia.org , within Data Space : dbpedia.org Nennius was a Welsh monk of the 9th century who is chiefly known today as the author of the Historia Brittonum, an attribution contained in the prologue affixed to that work though David Dumville and others have cast doubt upon the ascription and upon the antiquity of the prologue. He was a student of Elvodugus, commonly identified with the bishop Elfodd who convinced British ecclesiastics to accept the Continental dating for Easter, and who died in 809 according to the Annales Cambriae.
