Mae’r plwyf yn amrywio mewn uchder o 200 i tua 1,125 troedfedd uwch ben y môr. Mae’r pentref yn edrych tuag at ardaloedd arfordirol Towyn, Y Rhyl a Phrestatyn. O frig Mynydd y Gaer a Foel Fodiar, y ddau fynydd sy’n y plwyf, ceir golygfeydd gwych i fyny Dyffryn Clwyd a thuag at erwinder rhamantus ag anial Mynydd Hiraethog. Heb law’r pentref, ceir mannau neu ardaloedd eraill o fewn y plwyf a adweinir fel Ffynhonnau, Cefn Berain, Pentref Uchaf, Pentref Isaf a’r Bont Newydd. Amaethyddiaeth yw prif ddiwydiant y plwyf, er mai ychydig iawn a gyflogir yn y diwydiant hwnnw o gymharu â chanrif yn ôl, ac nid yw heddiw yn cyfrannu fawr ddim i gyflogaeth yr ardal. Mae pobl heddiw yn teithio y tu allan i’r plwyf i weithio ac yn ymwneud â sawl proffesiwn fel y gyfraith, cyllid, addysgu, gweinyddu, clerigol, crefft a masnach etc. Mae’r tir yn ffrwythlon a gall fod yn drwm, cleiog ag oer gyda chalchfaen a siâl i’w gael o fewn terfynau’r plwyf sy’n mesur 7,605 o erwau. Mae tystiolaeth ddaearegol o fynyddoedd iâ yn siapio’r tirlun wrth iddynt fynd tuag at y môr o Eryri. Ceir yr afonydd Aled, Elwy, Meirchion ac Asa yn llifo trwy’r plwyf, rhai ohonynt yn llunio terfynau naturiol y plwyf.

    http://www.villagedairy.co.uk/english/faq.html
FACTS ABOUT LLAETH -Y- LLAN Llaeth y Llan Dairy was the earliest place of learning in the village of Llanefydd. Being from 1746 to 1756 one of the Rev Griffith Jones Llanddowror's circulating schools with thirty pupils ( Griffith Jones 1683-1761, Carmarthenshire born evangelist and educator pioneered education in the Welsh language by establishing 3,000 circulating schools in 25 years). So it has a long association with culture. The early school enabled people to read the Bible and enrich their souls. Now the 'cultured' milk produced here as Llaeth y Llan Yogurt nourishes the body while its flavour transports the taste buds to sheer ecstasy. Could Twm o'r Nant 1739-1810, born Thomas Edwards of peasant stock at nearby Penporchell Isa and later known as the Cambrian Shakespeare have received his early education here? Twm's claim to fame and notoriety is in the writing of his sometimes ribald metric plays known as interludes, often performed using his timber wagon as a stage. Through his written work performed at fairs he was bold enough to attack the injustices of his day in a language which still has a robust charm.

    Hanes yr Achos
Mae gwreiddiau'r Capel Mawr yn mynd yn ôl i'r ddeunawfed ganrif. O 1741 fe ddechreuodd pregethwyr Calfinaidd wneud eu ffordd i Ddinbych a chyn bo hir yr oedd cyfarfodydd rheolaidd yn cael eu cynnal yn, ac ar ymylon y dref, llawer ohonynt mewn hen sgubor. Erbyn 1793 yr oedd y gynulleidfa wedi gordyfu'r adeilad hwn. Fe benderfynasant ddymchwel yr ysgubor ac adeiladu capel yn ei lle. Dim ond 30 troedfedd sgwâr yr oedd yn mesur.
Mae wedi ei adeiladu i gynllun oedd yn gyffredin ar y pryd ond a gollodd ei boblogrwydd, sef adeilad petryal hir, gyda drysau ar bob pen i'r waliau hiraf, a'r pulpud rhwng y drysau. Ffynhonnell y cynllun oedd yr ygubor mewn cae le y bu i lu o gynulleidfaoedd Methodistiaid Calfinaidd, gan gynnwys y Capel Mawr, ddechrau eu bywyd. Fe aeth drwy amryw o newidiadau, ac fe gafodd yr adeilad gwreiddiol ar lun ysgubor ei addurno mewn arddull Eidalaidd ochelgar. Fe gafodd y Capel Mawr ei newid yn 1857-1860, ac eto yn 1879-1880, pan symudwyd y pulpud i'w safle presennol ac yr adeiladwyd y cyntedd sgwâr. Fe gafodd yr ysgoldy ei hadeiladu yn 1892 ac yn 1905 fe adeiladwyd ac fe osodwyd yr organ gan Alex Young a'i Feibion, Manceinion. Mae nifer o bobl enwog yn gysylltiedig â'r Capel Mawr:
