Gottfried von Einem From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation search Gottfried von Einem (born 24 January 1918 in Bern , died 12 July 1996 in Oberdürnbach) was an Austrian composer . He is known chiefly for his operas influenced by the music of Stravinsky and Prokofiev , as well as by jazz . He also composed pieces for piano, violin and organ. His father, William von Einem, was part of the Austrian military attaché in Bern. After his school days he went to Berlin , where he studied with Boris Blacher and became a répétiteur for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra . Through Blacher, von Einem met his first wife, Lianne von Bismarck, whom he married in 1946 . They had a son, Caspar Einem (born 1948), who is now a former Austrian cabinet minister who still sits in the National Council on the Social Democratic bench. In 1953, the family moved back to Vienna. Lianne von Bismarck died in 1962. In 1966 von Einem married his librettist , the renowned Austrian playwright and author Lotte Ingrisch . Gottfried Benn Schriftsteller, Arzt 2. Mai: Gottfried Benn wird in Mansfeld (Westprignitz) als Sohn eines lutherischen Pfarrers geboren. Benn beginnt sein Theologie- und Philosophiestudium in Marburg. Beginn des Medizinstudiums in Berlin. Er wird Unterarzt in einem Prenzlauer Infanterieregiment. Mit dem Gedichtband "Morgue" erregt Benn in avantgardistischen Kreisen großes Aufsehen, da er die herkömmliche Vorstellung von Lyrik radikal in Frage stellt. Die Provokation seiner Lyrik beruht vor allem auf der Darstellung der Banalität der menschlichen Existenz und ihres körperlichen Verfalls. Außerdem ist seine künstlerische Methode, sein artistischer Umgang mit Sprache neuartig und beeinflußt die expressionistische Lyrik. Die Gedichtsammlung "Söhne" erscheint mit einer Zueignung an die Dichterin Im Ersten Weltkrieg Veröffentlichung der Prosasammlung "Gehirne" sowie der Gedichtsammlung "Fleisch", die in ihrer schroffen Menschenverachtung seine Reaktion auf die Greuel des Kriegs zeigt.
