complete catalogue of Scarlatti sonatas replacing Kirkpatrick; including doubtful works, newly discovered works, primary sources
scarlatti domenico home cogito citations catalogue ... Catalogue (Adobe pdf file; 2.4 MB) Catalogue The catalogue contains listings, or at least a mention, of all the keyboard sonatas thought to have been composed by Domenico Scarlatti, as well as many attributed to him in eighteenth century sources. For a more complete list of doubtful ones, as well as fuller information on all the sources used, see the Collections file. Each entry has a map of themes and keys, with the measure numbers in which they first appear, followed by notes and citations. The catalogue is arranged in alphabetical and numberical order by primary source. The primary source, as I have defined it, is the one upon which the maps and notes are based; this means that in most cases I am describing the sonata as it appears in the Parma and Essercizi facsimiles in the Johnson reprint edition compiled by Kirkpatrick, with other sources labeled when they differ from the primary source. In most cases it is the same primary source identified in Sheveloff's worklist for New Grove 1980; this was expanded in Boyd's worklist for
