Green Sustainable Living
Summer Is Over
October 6, 2010 posted by Admin @ 7:51 AM I had a long list of summer projects and could not complete most of the projects due to a summer of non-stop rain.  We set a record for the area we live in.  The homemade windmill project that I started about a year ago is almost complete.  I marked the ground for digging out for the sauna tubes and will get this done before the ground freezes.  Once the sauna tubes are in and the concrete is poured I can finish the windmill at anytime.  I am very excited to get this project done and move on to other projects (methane production, food production, etc.).  The windmill will produce all the power I need daily (and then some) and my solar panels will produce extra power.  I am leaning towards dumping the extra power into electric heat during the winter.  I currently use wood.  More on this project as I get towards completing it (I will upload pictures too). I bought a canner this year and canned wild salmon.  I am hoping to get some moose meat to can as well.  There is something satisfying about seeing cases of canned food on the shelf.

First launched in 2007, it is now being used by over 300 corporations worldwide. Non-business stakeholders, too, are increasingly recognizing its value,” says Björn Stigson, President of the WBCSD.
