Rybka wins computer tournament in Leiden
Mark Crowther - Monday 31st May 2010 The 10th International Computer Chess Tournament took place in Leiden 28th-30th May 2010. Organised by the CSVN, the Dutch Computer Chess Federation, are important meetings for chess programmers to improve their programs. This year, the 10th ICT was played in the Denksportcentrum in Leiden, The Netherlands with 14 programs. A nice mixture of top chess programs like Rybka, Hiarcs, Shredder and Junior and amateur programs like Pandix, The Baron, Spark and Kallisto. Rybka again took clear first with 8/9. http://www.csvn.nl Computer Chess - Rybka wins ICT10 in Leiden by Eric van Reem. Another title for Rybka! In the 10th edition of the International Computer Chess Tournament (ICT10) the latest Rybka version by Vasik Rajlich scored 8 points out of 9 games. Rybka lost only one game, against number 2 Deep Sjeng by Gian-Carlo Pascutto. The Belgian program played a fine tournament and scored 7 points. Two programs shared the last spot on the winner’s podium: Hiarcs by Mark Uniacke and Shredder by Stefan Meyer-Kahlen. Both programs scored 6 points. Rybka won the “Theo van der Storm” trophy, named after the late CSVN secretary and organizer Theo van der Storm.
