Times Tables Practice
Times are tough, but not impossible!
Click here to go straight to low-frills, low-stress practice. Memorizing over a hundred facts of any kind is a formidable task for most humans. The first strategy to make the task easier is to break it down into smaller parts. Studying 3 facts until they are mastered, then studying 3 more, then putting all six together, is a much more effective strategy than looking at 10 facts and going over them again and again. In fact, looking at something again and again is not a particularly effective way of learning anything. Recalling the facts without looking at them, retrieving the information from one's own mind, relating it to other things you already know what we call "processing" the information is far more effective. The second general principle of committing a large quantity of information is that it is easier to remember what we understand and can associate with things that we already know. The sequence of quizzes here are based on the sequence in Dr. Chinn's book

Math Tables - How to Learn
It may seem strange that something so fundamental as math tables requires specific techniques for learning. However I am confident that the following advice gives the quickest results and best retention of the tables. HOW LONG AND HOW OFTEN? You will see best results from working on these math tables with your child daily. Don't make it an onerous task though; keep the sessions relatively short, say 10 to 15 minutes. This should even be continued for quite a while after the child has learned all the math tables, to make sure they are firmly lodged in the brain. THE EASY ORDER. By learning the easiest math tables first your child will experience rapid progress and will be encouraged. I suggest the following order: 1x, 10x, 2x, 5x, then 3x and 4x, lastly 6x through 9x. If you choose to include the 11x and 12x tables they would probably go last but it is up to you. I suggest that you focus on ONE TABLE PER SESSION . It doesn't have to be the same table each session, but stick to just one.

I'm working on these simple math tables to learn arithmetic. While
I'm working on them an idea keeps popping in my head.. "What is the
    matrix?".
The math tables I find online are all but useless for really helping
anyone learn, and they don't teach the math matrix in schools. They
expect everyone to rely on calculators.
But here is a good way to do it:
This is a simple subtraction table for arithmetic. Normally addition
and subtraction tables are useless because they make such a simple
pattern it is hard to visualize what is happening. This one is easier
to learn from. You just start by picking a number to subtract from, in the parenthesis. Let's say (17), then you move over to the in that row, and ask yourself how much you are subtracting. Then you just go straight up the row to that number, and over again to the parenthesis to get your answer. This is great visual mathematics. Here are my multiplication and division tables which are also great, because they only are carried on until the pattern repeats and you don't have to learn the table for very large numbers. This is just

We opened the store with products in math, art, language art, social studies
    http://www.edu4kids.com/
    Education 4 Kids Store
Over the first five years of Education 4 Kids we were strictly a drill game site, but in 2001 we started to hear from parents and teachers how they felt that pricing for educational products was outlandish. Through 2003 and 2004 we investigated these charges and we found out that the prices teachers, homeschool parents, and educators were paying were... outlandish. In June, 2003 Education 4 Kids opened the Teacher Supply and School Supply store. We opened the store with products in math, art, language art, social studies, science and general teaching supplies. In total the original store opened with about 2,000 products. In July 2006 we expanded the store, increasing the total number of products to about 7,000. In 2007 we decided to upgrade the store software, and at the same time we decided to increase the size of the product offering to over 28,000 products. We have been told by many that the store looks like a big company, but we are very much a mom and pop without the overhead that the large companies have. Which is why we offer products with prices starting at 8% below the MSRP and in some cases the discounts are as deep as 34% below the MSRP. As a woman owned business we try to be a place where we would want to shop. So, the store isn't fancy, but it works, is easy for you the customer to use, and most of all, keeps an eye on your pocketbook. To enter the store use the tab above (E4K Store) or the link below. And thank you for considering Education 4 Kids to meet your school supply and educational supply needs.

    Learning Math Tables
By Jennifer Zimmerman eHow Contributor I want to do this! What's This? Math tables are used to illustrate elementary math concepts like addition, multiplication, number notation, fraction/decimal conversion and ratios, like those involving interest. The most commonly used math table is the multiplication table. Tables are especially helpful for visual learners, as the information is spread out for the eye to see. However, auditory and kinesthetic learners can learn math tables as well.
    Read
  • Multiplication Table Knowing how to read a math table is half the battle. Tables are laid out in rows (sections that go across) and columns (sections that go up and down). Tables usually have headings to indicate what the rows and columns represent. It is usually the combination of row and column that will give you the answer you need. For example, the multiplication table below can show you that 7 x 9 is 63, provided you place one finger in the seven row and move it sideways until it is in the 9 column.
  • Practice
  • To truly learn the table, you need to practice with it. Solving math problems that use the table, such as multiplication problems or fraction-to-decimal conversions, is a great way to do this. You can write your own problems, use problems from your math textbook, or print worksheets from math sites on
