Biography by All Movie Guide One of England's most respected actors and directors, Sir Richard Attenborough has made numerous contributions to world cinema both in front of and behind the camera. The son of a Cambridge school administrator, Attenborough began dabbling in theatricals at the age of 12. While attending London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1941, he turned professional, making his first stage appearance in a production of Eugene O'Neill 's Ah, Wilderness! He made his screen debut as the Young Sailor in Noel Coward and David Lean 's In Which We Serve (1943), before achieving his first significant West End success as the punkish, cowardly, petty criminal Pinkie Brown in Brighton Rock

Gyromagnetic resonance fourier transform zeugmatography
Ernst, Richard R.; An improved technique is disclosed for forming two- or three-dimensional images of a macroscopic sample by means of gyromagnetic resonance. A train of free induction decay transient resonance signals are induced and detected from a sample in a region to be imaged. A sequence of pulsed magnetic field gradients are applied during the series of free induction decay signals to derive sets of gyromagnetic resonance data as a function of the changing magnetic field gradients. Two- or three-dimensional images are reconstructed from the sets of resonance data by two- or three-dimensional Fourier transformation. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates in general to image formation by detecting gyromagnetic resonance of a sample in a region of space to be imaged and exposed to a magnetic field gradient and, more particularly, to an improved method and apparatus for obtaining such images wherein the data for constructing such images is derived by inducing a train of free induction decay gyromagnetic resonances of the sample within such a region to be imaged.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
Heretofore, it has been proposed to obtain an image (graphical representation of the spatial distribution of one or more of the properties) of an object or region by inducing and detecting nuclear magnetic resonance of a sample in the region to be imaged. In this prior method, a linear magnetic field gradient is produced across the region of the object occupied by the gyromagnetic resonance sample. A resonance spectrum is obtained for each of a relatively large number of angularly displaced orientations of the linear magnetic gradient through the sample region of the object to be imaged.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation search Portrait of Richard Leveridge. Richard Leveridge (19 July 1670 – 22 March 1758) was an English bass singer of the London stage and a composer of baroque music , including many popular songs. He was born in the parish of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, in 1670, and in 1695 became the leading bass singer in the company with which Henry Purcell worked, playing roles such as the magician Ismeron in The Indian Queen , where he sang the major aria "Ye twice ten hundred deities". After Purcell's death he continued to work for composers Daniel Purcell and Jeremiah Clarke . Leveridge also began to compose himself, and in February 1699 all three provided music for an adaptation of Fletcher 's The Island Princess , in which Leveridge's performance was widely acclaimed. Two books of his songs were published in 1697 and 1699, and his popular theatre songs also appeared as single sheet music. After a spell in Dublin he returned to London in 1702 for a revival of The Island Princess and a new production of Macbeth billed as "with music Vocal and Instrumental, all new Composed by Mr Leveridge". He sang the role of

This is a well acted production where the images are even more impressive than the acting. Usually when critics say the images are the best part of a movie, they are reviewing a mediocre show where the visuals are its redeeming feature. Here they enhance an already outstanding production. As an aside, the theater where I saw the film had an overscan problem and the opening title clearly proclaimed the movie to be RICHARD II so I thought for a second I was going to see a prequel.

Richard Robert Ernst (born August 14 ) is a Swiss chemist and Nobel Laureate. Ernst was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in for his contributions towards the development of multidimensional, Fourier transform nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy while at Varian Associates, Palo Alto California . This technique is very largely used in medicine to get precise images of the human body, and in such context is known as magnetic resonance imagery (MRI). In the poster made by the Nobel Prize committee, Richard Ernst acknowledged that the idea he has developed originally came from the Belgian scientist Jean Jeener , professor at the Universit Libre de Bruxelles . From LoveToKnow 1911
RICHARD CAREW (1555-1620), English poet and antiquary , was born on the 17th of July 1555, at Antony House, East Antony, Cornwall . At the age of eleven, he entered Christ Church, Oxford , and when only fourteen was chosen to carry on an extempore debate with Sir Philip Sidney , in presence of the earls of Leicester and Warwick and other noblemen. From Oxford he removed to the Middle Temple, where he spent three years, and then went abroad. By his marriage with Juliana Arundel in 1577 he added Coswarth to the estates he had already inherited from his father. In 1586 he was appointed high- sheriff of Cornwall; he entered parliament in 1584; and he served under Sir Walter Raleigh , then lord lieutenant of Cornwall, as treasurer. He became a member of the Society of Antiquaries in 1589, and was a friend of William Camden and Sir Henry Spelman . His great work is the Survey of Cornwall, published in 1602, and reprinted in 1769 and 1811. It still possesses interest, apart from its antiquarian value, for the picture it gives of the life and interests of a country gentleman of the days of Elizabeth . Carew's other works are: - a translation of the first five Cantos of Tasso's Gerusalemme (1594), printed in the first instance without the author's knowledge, and entitled

Richard R. Ernst
Swiss Scientist and professor Richard R. Ernst (born 1933) received the 1991 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his pioneering work in the development of techniques for high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Because of his work, nuclear magnetic resonance techniques became valuable tools in chemistry and also found application in other sciences. The contributions of Nobel Prize-winning chemist Richard Robert Ernst proved far-ranging, as his work in the area of high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy led to the development of magnetic resonance imaging, which would become one of the most valuable non-invasive diagnostic imaging technologies available to medical professionals. Ernst was born on August 14, 1933, in Winterthur, Switzerland, to Robert Ernst and Irma Brunner. Ernst later described his hometown as a place of both artistic and industrious activity, and this would influence both his recreational and career pursuits. At an early age, he learned how to play violincello and demonstrated an interest in musical composition. However, he also became fascinated with chemistry. This interest took hold when he was 13 years old. While exploring the family attic, he discovered a case filled with chemicals that had once belonged to his late uncle, who was a metallurgical engineer. Through this discovery, Ernst became intrigued by the possibilities of chemical reac-

Richard Crashaw was the son of a staunch Puritan preacher. He was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge from where he graduated in 1634 going on to become a fellow of Peterhouse. After the English Civil War he became a Roman Catholic and left England for France. Introduced to the French Queen, Henrietta Maria, by his friend Abraham Cowley, another ex-Cambridge fellow who was working as her secretary, he was helped by her to obtain a position at Loreto Cathedral in Italy, where he died in 1649. Crashaw's principal poetic work was the Steps to the Temple , a collection of religious poems published in 1646. Attached to this was a non-religious section entitled Delights of the Muses , which contains his best-known poem Wishes to his Supposed Mistress . After his death his friend, Miles Pinkney, published a more complete volume of his works, Carmen Deo Nostro Wishes to His Supposed Mistress
