42. Words By Mother Teresa
A clean heart is a free heart. A free heart can love Christ with an undivided love in chastity, convinced that nothing and nobody will separate it from his love.
http://www.ewtn.com/motherteresa/words.htm
A clean heart is a free heart. A free heart can love Christ with an undivided love in chastity, convinced that nothing and nobody will separate it from his love. Purity, chastity, and virginity created a special beauty in Mary that attracted God’s attention. He showed his great love for the world by giving Jesus to her. There is a terrible hunger for love. We all experience that in our lives - the pain, the loneliness. We must have the courage to recognize it. The poor you may have right in your own family.
Find them.
Love them.
Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart. Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.
Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don't only give your care, but give your heart as well. The more you have, the more you are occupied, the less you give. But the less you have the more free you are. Poverty for us is a freedom. It is not mortification, a penance.

43. Missionaries Of Charity Fathers
Introduction to the spirit of the religious community of priests founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, and information about vocations to it.
http://www.mcpriests.com/03_intro.htm
The term 'charism,' in reference to a founder or foundress, describes a particular anointing of the Holy Spirit upon their life and work, allowing them to trace out a new path of holiness and charity in the Church. This anointing bestowed on Mother Teresa a specific apostolic mission , a new way of serving the gospel, as well as a clearly defined spirituality , a unique way of envisioning one's personal relationship to God. In the short time since her passing, Mother Teresa and her mission have become a modern icon of love and compassion , respected the world over. Even to the non-believer and agnostic, her name is synonymous with the tender care of those most in need. of Him who had sent her . Her work, with its almost impossible physical and spiritual demands, was undertaken in complete, hour-to-hour, dependence on God. For so many rich and poor alike, in search of some glimmer of God's face yet blinded by life's pain, Mother Teresa became a blessed window onto the heart of God . Her message, spoken softly in her small frail voice, but thundering in the witness of her work, remains to this day a portal of light drawing us into the tender, welcoming embrace of God. She is a "sign for this generation" – a sign that God has indeed ' so loved the world ' (Jn. 3,16). And more, as she herself insisted, a sign that God "

Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.
Mother Teresa , whose original name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, was born on August 26, 1910 in what is now Skopje, Macedonia. She always wrote her birthday as the 27th of August because that was the day of her baptism, which was always more important to her than her birth. For her work with the poor around the world she received the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize.
In 1928 she joined a religious order and took the name Teresa. The order immediately sent her to India. A few years later, she began teaching in Calcutta, and in 1948 the Catholic Church granted her permission to leave her convent and work among the city's poor people. She became an Indian citizen that same year. In 1950, she founded a religious order in Calcutta called the Missionaries of Charity . The order provides food for the needy and operates hospitals, schools, orphanages, youth centers, and shelters for lepers and the dying poor. It now has branches in 50 Indian cities and 30 other countries.
In addition to the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize , Mother Teresa has received other awards for her work with the needy. These awards include the 1971

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Dear Friend of Saint Joseph Abbey, D ecember 1964. Pope Paul VI is in Bombay to preside at the International Eucharistic Congress. Several million people are crowded all along the twenty kilometer route between the airport and the city. All wish to see and hear "the world's greatest religious leader." Mother Teresa of Calcutta is among those invited to the Congress. But on the way to the palace, she has come across a man and his wife, exhausted, with bloody faces, so thin that there is but skin over their bones. Mother Teresa approaches, tries to help. The man has just the time to pronounce a few words before expiring. Without hesitation, Mother Teresa loads the woman over her shoulders and carries her to the Home for the Dying. This exhausted woman represents Jesus and she must be assisted before all else, even if it means missing such a precious encounter with the Vicar of Christ. As long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to Me, Jesus will say at the Last Judgment ( Mt "To help all men" Gonxha (Agnes) Bojaxhiu, the future Mother Teresa, was born on August 26, 1910 in Skopje (ex-Yugoslavia). Her family, of Albanian nationality, was deeply Catholic. Around 1928, a special grace received from the Most Blessed Virgin, led Gonxha to the religious life. She was received by the Sisters of Our Lady of Loretto in Dublin, Ireland, whose Rule takes inspiration from the spirituality of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Gonxha meditated on the meaning of life: "Man is created to praise, reverence and serve God Our Lord, and by this means to save his soul" (

"Mother" Teresa (1910-1997)
General Teachings/Activities
- "Mother" Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu of Albanian parents in what is now Yugoslavia/Bosnia on August 27, 1910. She died of a heart attack on September 5, 1997. The diminutive nun arrived in India on January 6, 1929, where she started assisting the needy and eventually established the now-global "Missionaries of Charity" organization. Ultimately, more than 500 missions in 100 countries were established. Yet, "Mother" Teresa, and those who worked with her, never tried to convert to Christ the dying people for whom they cared. Instead, "Mother" Teresa declared: "If in coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we are converting. We become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic , a better whatever we are. ... What God is in your mind you must accept" (from Mother Teresa: Her People and Her Work , by Desmond Doig, p. 156). - How did "Mother" Teresa become such a great symbol of charity and saintliness? Her break into stardom came when Malcolm Muggeridge a very pious British political and social pundit adopted her for his pet cause. In 1969, he made a very famous film about her life and later a book called Something Beautiful for God . Both the book and the film deserve the label hagiography. So it wasn't the result of the propaganda of the "Holy Office," but when the Catholic church realized it had a winner on its hands, it was quick to adopt her. She was a very great favorite of the faithful and a very good advertisement to attract non-believers or non-Catholics. And she was very useful for the current pope as a weapon against reformists and challengers within the church. (Source: "An Interview with Christopher Hitchens on Mother Teresa," Fall 1996

GONXHA AGNES BOJAXHIU was born on August 27, 1910, at Skopje, Yugoslavia, one of three children of an Albanian storekeeper, Nicholas, and his peasant wife, Rose. Her interest in missionary activity was aroused at the age of 12 while attending the German Gymnasium, when she heard of work being done by Jesuits near Darjeeling. By the time she was 18 any doubts had been resolved. Taking her vows as a nun, she became SISTER TERESA in the Institute of the Virgin Mary in Dublin, Ireland. Soon thereafter, on January 6, 1929, she was sent to the Loreto Community in Calcutta, India, to teach at St. Mary's High School.

zSB(3,3) When Mother Teresa speaks on issues like family, children, or God, her words overwhelm the reader by their profoundness. Mother Teresa was not just another protagonist for the weak. Her acts of selfless service to humankind touched people of all strata. She was a darling of the masses; a messiah in the garb of a nun. Let us gain from these Mother Teresa quotes.
    • Loyalty
Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.
    • Family
Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents. Parents have very little time for each other. And in the home, begins the disruptiof peace of the world.
    • God
I am not sure exactly what Heaven will be like. But I don't know that when we die and if comes the time for God to judge us, He will not ask, "How many good things have you done in your life?" Rather He will ask, "How much love did you put into what you did?"
