Book Summary of Summability Of Multi-Dimensional Fourier Series And Hardy Spaces
This is the first monograph which considers the theory of more-parameter dyadic and classical Hardy spaces. In this book a new application of martingale and distribution theories is dealt with. The theories of the multi-parameter dyadic martingale and the classical Hardy spaces are applied in Fourier analysis. Several summability methods of d-dimensional trigonometric-, Walsh-, spline-, and Ciesielski-Fourier series and Fourier transforms as well as the d-dimensional dyadic derivative are investigated. The boundedness of the maximal operators of the summations on Hardy spaces, weak (L1, L1) inequalities and a.e. convergence results for the d-dimensional Fourier series are proved. Audience: This book will be useful for researchers as well as for graduate or postgraduate students whose work involves Fourier analysis, approximations and expansions, sequences, series, summability, probability theory, stochastic processes, several complex variables, and analytic spaces.

The topics below are part of the division of mathematical knowledge to subdisciplines; they come from the 2000 Math. subject classification of the AMS and ZMATH , with some minor edits. Each of these top level topics is a big subject, and it is not necessarily our first priority to write a long article on these entries. Our object with outlining this list is to establish a framework. We recommend that when you write a new article, you should try to find a proper node for it. Do not hesitate to put a link for an article you want to work on soon. Feel free to do the same to request a particular important topic to be covered. Remarks:
  • We kept the original MSC numbering in places.

Cadambathur Tiruvenkatacharlu Rajagopal
Born: 8 Sept 1903 in Triplicane, Madras, (now Chennai) India
Died: 25 April 1978 in Madras, India
Rajagopal was educated in Madras, India. He graduated in 1925 from the Madras Presidency College with Honours in mathematics. He spent a short while in the clerical service, another short while teaching in Annamalai University then, from 1931 to 1951, he taught in the Madras Christian College. Here he gained an outstanding reputation as a teacher of classical analysis. In 1951 Rajagopal was persuaded to join the Ramanujan Institute of Mathematics then, four years later, he became head of the Institute. Under his leadership the Institute became the major Indian mathematics research centre. Rajagopal studied sequences, series, summability. He published 89 papers in this area generalising and unifying Tauberian theorems. He also studied functions of a complex variable giving an analogue of a theorem of Edmund Landau on partial sums of Fourier series. In several papers he studied the relation between the growth of the mean values of an entire function and that of its Dirichlet series. A final topic to interest him was the history of medieval Indian mathematics. He showed that the series for tan

The Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) is used to categorize items covered by the two reviewing databases, Mathematical Reviews (MR) and Zentralblatt MATH (Zbl). The MSC is broken down into over 5,000 two-, three-, and five-digit classfications, each corresponding to a discipline of mathematics (e.g., 11 = Number theory; 11B = Sequences and sets; 11B05 = Density, gaps, topology). The current classification system, 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC2000), is a revision of the 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification, which is the classification that has been used by MR and Zbl since the beginning of 1991. MSC2000 is the result of a collaborative effort by the editors of MR and Zbl to update the classification. The editors acknowledge the many helpful suggestions from the mathematical community during the revision process. Changes at the 2-digit level Conversion Tables
