They are very important for the solution of Eastern European Finnish-Hungarian and Turkic nations origin. D uring almost 200 years history of archaeological researches in Tatarstan a few thousands of monuments were detected. Basic collections from this sites are kept in scientific and cultural institutions of the Republic: in the State United Museum of the Tatarstan Republic, in the Institute of History of the Tatarstan Republic Academy of Sciences, in the Kazan State University, Bolgar historic-architectural reserve, Biliar historic-archaeological and natural museum-reserve, Iske-Kazan state museum-reserve. Have you ever wondered how scientists learn about people who lived thousands of years ago?
Archaeologists are the scientists who study people from the past. They find clues about how people lived by studying the tools they used, the kind of structures they built, and the environments they lived in.

Welcome to Orkney Archaeology Tours
We are the only tour company in Orkney to be run entirely by professional archaeologists who are also accredited Orkney Tourist Guides, holding the coveted Green Badge awarded by the Scottish Tourist Guides Association.  We are a partnership run by our tour leaders - see our about us  page - who live and work all year round in Orkney and have an in depth knowledge of Orkney’s archaeology, cultural traditions and history – as well as knowing all the best places to see seals! We specialize in small-scale exclusive holidays and tours of Orkney, concentrating on the wonderful archaeology but also showing you as much as possible of our beautiful islands, with an absolute maximum of eight guests. Contrast our approach with that of many large national companies who include an Orkney tour in their portfolio - their tour leaders may well visit only once a year with their groups, and otherwise have no connection with or specialist knowledge of Orkney. Many of these tours are large group tours on 50 seater coaches - hardly the ideal way to appreciate a place as special as Orkney. We offer a choice of all-inclusive one-week small group Orkney holidays,

94. TNTlite For Archaeology
GIS and image analysis software system for archaeologists.
http://www.microimages.com/archaeol.htm
home products news downloads ... SITE MAP
What is it?
The free TNTlite products provide a complete and integrated system for GIS, image processing, desktop mapping and cartography, relational database, and other geospatial processes.
What are the limitations?
After years of the quiet development of professional image analysis and GIS products , MicroImages, Inc. added FREE student versions of these same products as part of their regular product releases. These free TNTlite products differ from the 'paid for' professional versions of TNTmips, TNTedit, and TNTview used in over 100 nations only in the size of the project you can complete. However, the analysis and management of all the geospatial data for a single archaeological site-specific project will easily fit within the size limits of the free TNTlite products. Furthermore, as many separate site systems can be independently created and analyzed as needed.
The general upper size limitations on geodata objects used in the free TNTlite are as follows: each raster object can be 314,368 pixels (such as 614 x 512), which is adequate for the photographic overview of a site or for vertical photographs of each grid cell; a vector object of a site's features is limited to 500 polygons; a CAD object such as an artifact map to 500 elements; a database pinmap or point feature map or artifacts is limited to 1500 points, or records in 10 related tables for associating detailed attributes of the elements in each object including images (rasters), vector, CAD, and TIN objects. A project for a single field site may integrate and use many of each of these objects as needed: a vector object of vegetation, one for each soil layer, one for each artifact type, multiple images, many separate CAD layers, and so on with each of these objects supported by 10 relational attribute (database) tables.
