The term generally refers to a richness of ideas and originality of thinking. Psychological studies of highly creative people have shown that many have a strong interest in apparent disorder, contradiction, and imbalance, which seem to be perceived as challenges. Such individuals may possess an exceptionally deep, broad, and flexible awareness of themselves. Studies also show that intelligence has little correlation with creativity; thus, a highly intelligent person may not be very creative. Tools That Can Help You Be More Creative
In offices throughout the United States, there has been a general decline in the overall energy level and commitment to the job on the part of millions of office workers. The drab nature of many offices, coupled with a general feeling that an individual’s job does not make much of a difference in the grand scheme, can lead to a lack of concentration and wasted man hours.
However, a group of individuals who are insufficiently motivated by their managers and executives not only ignore routine tasks. These workers also fail to show their corporate creativity in the workplace, which means a decrease in innovation and a weaker standing for the company in the marketplace.
The cause is not lost for managers and executives, however, as there are a number of solutions to the creativity drain in American offices. Some companies rely on in-house team building solutions in order to keep workers away from the doldrums and allowing them to demonstrate their creativity in a positive way. Other companies schedule regular trips to corporate team building centers, improvisational comedy centers, and other companies that specialize in team building and worker motivation.

Changing the world... Creativity:
One can define creativity as the mental phenomena, skills and/or tools capable of originating (and subsequently developing) innovation, inspiration or insight. Pop psychology generally may associate it with right or forehead brain activity or even specifically with lateral thinking.
For many people, the word creativity most immediately conjours up associations with artistic endeavours and with writing; some have also linked creativity with science since at least the heyday of the muses of Ancient Greece.
Since the time of Graham Wallas and his work Art of Thought, published in 1926, some have considered creativity a useful and effective response to evolutionary changes.
The psychologist Robert Sternberg has proposed to apply the name creatology to scientific studies of creativity.
The scope of creativity

Within the different modes of artistic expression, one can postulate a continuum extending from "interpretation" to "innovation". Established artistic movements and genres pull practitioners to the "interpretation" end of the scale, whereas original thinkers strive towards the "innovation" pole. Note that we conventionally expect some "creative" people (dancers, actors, orchestra-players ...) to perform (interpret) while allowing others (writers, painters, composers ...) more freedom to express the new and the different.
