From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Redirected from HIPERLAN Jump to: navigation search HiperLAN (High Performance Radio LAN) is a Wireless LAN standard. It is a European alternative for the IEEE 802.11 standards (the IEEE is an international organization). It is defined by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). In ETSI the standards are defined by the BRAN project (Broadband Radio Access Networks). The HiperLAN standard family has four different versions.

edit HiperLAN/1
Planning for the first version of the standard, called HiperLAN/1, started 1991, when planning of 802.11 was already going on. The goal of the HiperLAN was the high data rate , higher than 802.11. The standard was approved in 1996. The functional specification is EN300652, the rest is in ETS300836. The standard covers the Physical layer and the Media Access Control part of the Data link layer like 802.11. There is a new sublayer called Channel Access and Control sublayer (CAC). This sublayer deals with the access requests to the channels. The accomplishing of the request is dependent on the usage of the channel and the priority of the request. CAC layer provides hierarchical independence with Elimination-Yield Non-Preemptive Multiple Access mechanism (EY-NPMA). EY-NPMA codes priority choices and other functions into one variable length radio pulse preceding the

Senate Bill 1908, enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida July 1, 2008, instructed the State Board of Education to review the Sunshine State Standards and replace them with the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. In November of 2008 The Florida Department of Education convened a group of K-16 Florida reading, media, and language arts educators to draft the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in Language Arts. Right after the concluding July 2009 meeting of this committee, the Florida Department of Education announced its intention to join the beginning national efforts of writing and adopting a set of national Common Core Standards in Language Arts, and its 2009 drafting efforts were temporarily suspended to accommodate this new national effort. From late July 2009 through March 2010, the Florida Department of Education, along with other selected state departments of education, provided feedback and recommendations to this national standards writing committee which was convened jointly by the Council of Chief State School Officers and the National Governors Association, in partnership with Act, Inc and other educational organizations.

The Clean Air Act established two types of national air quality standards. Primary standards set limits to protect public health, including the health of "sensitive" populations such as asthmatics, children, and the elderly. Secondary standards set limits to protect public welfare, including protection against visibility impairment, damage to animals, crops, vegetation, and buildings. The Clean Air Act requires periodic review of the science upon which the standards are based and the standards themselves. EPA has set NAAQS for six principal pollutants, which are called "criteria" pollutants. They are listed below. For a summary table of the current NAAQS, click on the following link:

Curriculum and Instruction The New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards were first adopted by the State Board of Education in 1996. The standards describe what students should know and be able to do upon completion of a thirteen-year public education. Revised every five years, the standards provide local school districts with clear and specific benchmarks for student achievement in nine content areas. Developed by panels of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and representatives from higher education, business, and the community, the standards were influenced by national standards, research-based practice, and student need. The standards define a "Thorough and Efficient Education" as guaranteed in 1875 by the New Jersey Constitution. The standards unit provides local school districts with technical assistance to ensure that all students receive appropriate standards-based education. Content coordinators provide telephone, electronic, and on-site technical assistance in areas related to curriculum development and alignment, policy development, student assessment, and research-based practices. For more information on those services, go to the content area pages.

Advantages of representing dates with four-digit years
Data which is stored or exchanged and which contains century-ambiguous two-digit years, such as "05/13/29", can present Y2K problems. Different computer programs (and even humans) might variously interpret such dates as falling either in the 20th century, as May 13, 1929 or in the 21st century, as May 13, 2029. This could potentially lead to inaccurate data and faulty results. Under most circumstances, when

Emission Test Cycles
ISO 8178
The ISO 8178 is an international standard designed for a number of non-road engine applications. It is used for emission certification and/or type approval in many countries worldwide, including the USA, European Union and Japan. Depending on the legislation, the cycle can be defined by reference to the ISO 8178 standard, or else by specifying a test cycle equivalent to ISO 8178 in the national legislation (as it is the case with the US EPA regulations). The ISO 8178 is actually a collection of many steady-state test cycles (type C1, C2, D1, etc.) designed for different classes of engines and equipment. Each of these cycles represents a sequence of several steady-state modes with different weighting factors. The ISO 8178 test cycle—or its 8-mode schedule C1 in particular—can be also referred to as the “Non-Road Steady Cycle”, NRSC. The particular engine modes and their weighting factors for B-type (11 mode) test cycles are listed in Table 1. The standard also includes an A-type 13-mode cycle, which is not listed in the table (ISO standards can be ordered through the ISO web site).
