Structural Design:
At PSE, you, the client are in control. We have four different services for you choose from: 1. Structural Design Standard Services: This is the basic full structural service. Please relax. You are in good hands. PSE will use the most advanced software and techniques to analyze and design your project. PSE will provide: a) Vertical and lateral loads Analysis and Design according to the Building Code. c) Typical structural standard details. Details may or may not be to scale 2. Structural Design plus Services: Same as Structural Design Standard Services except: PSE will use some of the sections provided to PSE by the Architect to show the structural requirements. Most of the additional details will be drawn to scale. 3. Lateral Load Analysis only Services: a) Vertical load analysis and design is done by the client, according to the Building Code. b) PSE provides lateral load analysis and design. c) PSE will provide standard structural details to satisfy code requirements. Details may or may not be to scale. 4. Economy Services (For Architects and Home designers):

      • Architectural Engineering ... School of the Built Environment Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering
      • Structural Engineering
        The Programme
The course offers a thorough grounding in the major branches of civil engineering, but with strong emphasis on aspects most relevant to structural engineering. The aims of the course are similar to those for Civil Engineering, but with a stronger emphasis on the skills and knowledge appropriate to structural engineering design. In addition, the course aims to cultivate skills for the creative development of designs for construction projects.
        First Year
Students study modules that are common across the Programme, which include: Mechanics; Foundation Mathematics; and History of the Built Environment. It is intended to give students an introduction into the civil engineering industry.
        Second Year
Expands on the basics of the first year, with subjects including: Civil Engineering Materials; Hydraulics and Hydrology; Surveying and Monitoring in the Built Environment; and Stress Analysis and Element Strength.
        Third Year
Is concerned with engineering principles, and subjects studied include: Design of Steel and Concrete Elements; Introduction to Indeterminate Structures; Construction Procurement and Safety Management; and Modelling Engineering Systems.

The Council of American Structural Engineers (CASE) defines a structural engineer as: "An engineer with specialized knowledge, training, and experience in the sciences and mathematics relating to analyzing and designing force-resisting systems for buildings and other structures." A structural engineer usually has one of two roles on a building project, as identified by CASE:
