Adventure Dog First Aid Kit
As a veterinarian, I often receive emergency calls from pet owners regarding a pet with a laceration or one that has recently ingested something poisonous. I have put together this first aid kit and am offering it for sale in response to those calls. This is a premium kit with items including but not limited to a very durable medic bag, tissue handling tools, skin stapler, bandage material, wound flush, and a quick reference first aid guide. This kit is ideal to use if you are hiking on the trail or hunting in the field. I also have a youtube channel demonstrating how to perform basic first aid on your beloved four legged friends.

Welcome!
Welcome to the official website of Auburn University's Pre-Veterinary Medical Association, a group of dedicated pre-vet students brought together by a common interest in veterinary medicine and a love of animals. Our group transcends differences in majors and even colleges. The students in the club come from pre-vet majors found in the College of Agriculture, the College of Science and Math, School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, and other colleges within Auburn University as a whole. We encourage all students with an interest in veterinary medicine or animals to join us
What We Try To Do
The purpose of the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association of Auburn University is to stimulate student interest in veterinary medicine, familiarize students with the expectations associated with pre-veterinary and veterinary education and the veterinary profession, and to build strong friendships among pre-vet students. The Pre-Veterinary Medical Association of Auburn University endeavors to improve scholarship and the quality of individuals entering the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University and beyond.

Veterinary Medicine
The practice of veterinary medicine includes the diagnosis and treatment (including prescriptions and surgery) of all animal disease. "Animal" includes every living creature except humans. The practice of veterinary technology includes the performance of services within the field of veterinary medicine by a person (called a veterinary technician) who carries out medical orders prescribed by a supervising veterinarian. Most veterinarians offer a full range of diagnostic, surgical, and radiological procedures. Many practices also provide animal boarding services for the convenience of their clients. Some veterinarians have completed advanced training and research in specialty areas such as ophthalmology, internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology, among others. Your veterinarian may refer you to such a specialist when it is necessary, and professional associations may be able to provide the names of their members who have been certified in specialty areas of practice. New York State does not issue these specialty credentials. Under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian, veterinary technicians prepare and give medications as ordered by the veterinarian, take x-rays, induce and maintain anesthesia, and assist with medical and surgical procedures.

Congress Participants Engelberg 2008 Join us to explore how humans have cared for animals in different times and places!
Every two years, members of the World Association for the History of Veterinary Medicine meet for a Congress at which we present our research, exchange ideas, and socialize. In October 2008, we met in Engelberg, Switzerland, and discussed topics such as the history of canine-human relationships in aboriginal Australia, animal welfare in Dutch livestock farming, veterinary public health in the WHO, and contagious animal diseases such as anthrax and psittacosis. Friends and colleagues from around the world also enjoyed the beauty ofthe Swiss mountains (and the local beer, wine and cheese). In 2010, we will meet in beautiful and historic Antalya, Turkey (the Antalya marina is pictured above). Our hosts will be the Turkish Association for the History of Veterinary Medicine and Professional Ethics.
Between Congresses, we continue our discussions through this website, meetings in our own countries, professional conferences, and the journal
