Communication is a process where by information is enclosed in a package and is channeled and imparted by a sender to a receiver via some medium. The receiver then decodes the message and gives the sender a feedback. All forms of communication require a sender, a message, and an intended recipient, however the receiver need not be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication in order for the act of communication to occur. Communication requires that all parties have an area of communicative commonality. There are auditory means, such as speech, song, and tone of voice, and there are nonverbal means, such as body language sign language paralanguage touch ... eye contact , through media, i.e., pictures, graphics and sound, and writing

    Getting Your Point Across

Tailor your message to your audience to improve their comprehension. Don't worry so much about what you want to say as about what you want them to hear and understand. Giving Positive Feedback
Don't ever underestimate the power of positive feedback. We are quick to point out to someone when they make a mistake. Sometimes we forget to acknowledge them when they do something right. Giving Negative Feedback Properly
"Jane, you ignorant slut. No one who heard Dan Ackroyd say that on Saturday Night Live had any doubt that he was about to strongly disagree with whatever Jane Curtin had just said. Thats not the way to give negative feedback. Try this instead. The Lesson of the Red Horse.

These unapproved articles are subject to edit intro Communication derives from the Latin term ‘communicare’ meaning to share or impart and to make common. In contemporary English usage, it refers to interactive processes that create shared meaning. Meaning is shared within and across a wide array of contexts and media, ranging from intrapersonal self-talk through dyads and groups all the way up to international computer and broadcast networks. In the simplest forms of Communication messages are sent from a sender to a receiver via a medium. In more complex forms feedback loops link receivers back to senders and enable interactive exchange. As senders express ideas they are encoded into symbolic forms such as language and images which are decoded as the receiver interprets their meaning.

    Communication and Leadership
Communication is the exchange and flow of information and ideas from one person to another; it involves a sender transmitting an idea, information, or feeling to a receiver (U.S. Army, 1983). Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea that the sender intended to transmit. Many of the problems that occur in an organization are the either the direct result of people failing to communicate and/or processes, which leads to confusion and can cause good plans to fail (Mistry, Jaggers, Lodge, Alton, Mericle, Frush, Meliones, 2008). Studying the communication process is important because you coach, coordinate, counsel, evaluate, and supervise throughout this process. It is the chain of understanding that integrates the members of an organization from top to bottom, bottom to top, and side to side.

Communication has long had a bit part in rhetoric as communicatio , a technique whereby the rhetor figuratively interacts with the audience, for example by asking and answering rhetorical questions ("Why now, you ask? I say, we dare not delay!"). In larger ways, communication as a whole can be nearly synonymous with rhetoric, subsume or be subsumed by rhetoric, or even play a co-staring rolewhether heroic or villainousas rhetoric's archenemy. Communication relates to rhetoric in these diverse ways in part because communication, no less than rhetoric itself, has been conceptualized on radically different models. Transmission and Constitutive Models In the simplistic transmission model that is so often taken for granted in everyday discourse, communication is conceptualized as a process in which meanings, packaged in symbolic messages like bananas in crates, are transported from sender to receiver. Too often the bananas are bruised or spoiled in transport and so we have the ubiquitous problem of

    MASTERING THE ART OF COMMUNICATION
Communication is your door to financial wealth, loving relationships, and all that is good in life. Communication is the most talked about and least understood area of human behavior. Our ability to communicate in so many modes is unique to humans on earth. People who do not have the ability to speak can be wonderful communicators. The loss of one or two senses certainly can impair communication, but it does not have to stop communication. Effective communication is rarely taught and even more rarely learned in our society. What follows is an outline of a few of the many keys to mastering the art of communication. Superior communication skills are unquestionably vital to living a life by design.
    BASIC COMPONENTS OF COMMUNICATION
Interpersonal communication includes at least the following elements:
  • A transmitter. Someone who wants to "send" a message verbally or non-verbally to someone else.
