MULTIHULL SAILING DINGHY
The ultimate family boat. Enjoy the exhilaration of sailing trimarans in this innovative 16ft multihull boat. Explore coastline and islands secure in the knowledge that it is safe for your family and friends to share your adventures.
Not enough wind today? Use your engine to pootle up river. Or turn the boat into a rowing catamaran and get some exercise. This is a boat for all occasions.
SEVERAL BOATS IN ONE
So you want a fast and exhilarating dinghy to sail but you don't want to make excessive use of your wet suit! You would like a boat that is stable enough to be safe for those dear to you to share your enjoyment of sailing and yet fast enough to be fun.
Or maybe you face a different problem. Perhaps one of you wants to row while the other wants to sail. Then again you might want to go sailing on windy days and rowing on calm days. Before the VirusPlus it was not possible to have a boat that did all these things well. But now you can buy one craft that will do all these things brilliantly because it is several boats in one package. You can choose the mode you wish to use and rig it accordingly.
ADAPTABLE AND VERSATILE
The Virus Plus can be changed from one boat form to another easily. Each form has different characteristics so you can adapt it to the weather, the occasion or just your mood.

FBYC Frostbiting: Welcome to the home of the Fishing Bay Yacht Club Laser Fleet. News: Friday, August 6, 2010
Saturday turned into a great day of Summer Sea Breeze sailing in our second race day of the series. To start the day the wind was looking a little iffy and the RC wisely postponed us on shore for about an hour. By 2 it looked as if the sea breeze was starting to fill so the racers were called out to the course. We managed to get in 4 races in a breeze that built from 5-8 to 12-14. For the first time in a while the Laser fleet was finally back to prominence with the largest fleet out there. We had 3 Front Runners, 3 Flying Scots and 8 lasers including two visitors from other clubs. Jon Deutsch (FBYC) put up a 3-1-1-1 to finish 1st overall. Jeff Moore (SMSA) finished in 2nd and Mike Toms (FBYC) in 3rd. Complete Results. Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Fishing Bay Yacht Club Opens their one design season with the Stew Pot Regatta this Saturday, April 25. Registration will be at 0900 with a skippers meeting at 930 followed by a brief opening day ceremony. First warning will be at 1100. We have also scheduled a day of Fleet Practice on May 16th. This is a non-race day for other fleets and we were hoping that laser sailors would come out for some drills and practice races. Times will be posted once we get to May.

51. National Albacore Class

  • Home News
Home National Albacore Class At 15 feet in length and 240 pounds hull weight, the Albacore is a great first boat for those who are just learning to sail and a very competitive racer for more advanced sailors. The Albacore is a fast and lively while being relatively easy to learn to sail and race. Swept spreaders supporting a tapered mast with a powerful vang and adjustable sail controls allow a crew to depower in high winds - enabling both light and heavy crews to race head to head A very versatile boat, it is often sailed by husband/wife and parent child combinations. Some of the all women teams are the most competitive in the class. Those looking for a simple to learn, yet high performance sailing dinghy can join the ranks of Albacore sailors who come from all walks of life and range in age from teenagers to masters pushing 80 years of experience. The Albacore is a boat that is both simple to get into at first, and one which will challenge your tuning and tactical skills for the rest of your life 2010 Northerns A misty Saturday morning greeted 19 Albacores that had travelled from as far as South End and Strathclyde but it wouldn't put a dampener on what was a great weekends racing.

52. Dinghy Sailing
Dinghy sailing is a rapidly developing sport but it has been around for over 100 years
http://mesmerenterprizes.com/dinghysailing.html
Dinghy Sailing
A dinghy is a small utility boat carried by a larger boat.
Utility dinghies are usually rowboats but they can have an outboard motor or a sail. All dinghies were first made for off-ship trips to shore from larger boats where the water depth was too shallow for the larger boats. When not used in this way, a "dinghy" commonly refers to any similar boat originally developed for that specific use, but now used in its own right for dinghy sailing or racing.
Dinghy sailing
is a rapidly developing sport but it has been around for over 100 years. It is losing its image of being expensive, time consuming and exclusive. Through the use of modern designs and techniques such as lighter hull materials and foam sandwiched hull construction, more people can enjoy dinghy sailing. These small dinghy sailboats are less expensive and easily transported. The simpler rigs, such as gennakers instead of more complex spinnakers, are more economical in time and money and have greatly extended the appeal of dinghy sailing and racing. The Origami range of folding dingies offer simplicity and practicality. You build this dinghy yourself and for every construction plan ordered they plant a tree in the customers' name. They row nicely, take an outboard up to 3.3hp and can easily be converted to a sailing boat (as pictured below). The Origami folds in moments, is great fun to sail and surprisingly tough and stable. See the Origami also at the InventorsSpot.com.
