MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Peninsula Stars fast pitch softball organization, a Virginia non-stock corporation, is to provide a venue for all girls to play tournament level amateur fast pitch softball and to be an organization where each individual athlete's talents can grow and improve. While the Organization's infrastructure restricts the number of players it can service, the organization strives to serve as many hard-working, dedicated female athletes as possible. The organization treats each player with respect and dignity. In return, the goal is for the Peninsula Stars players to grow and mature, not only in the game of fast pitch softball, but also into productive adults and community leaders.
HISTORY
The Peninsula Stars Fastpitch Softball Organization is proud to call Hampton, Virginia its home. This organization was the dream of a hard-working group of dedicated parents and coaches. The Stars became a reality in the fall of 1998 and were formally established to start playing ball for the 1999 Summer Season. We have assembled a fine coaching staff from area high schools and little leagues and offer a tremendous amount of experience to the athletes involved with our organization.
PROJECTS
During the 2002 season, the Peninsula Stars embarked on an exciting project with the Salvation Army. There was an overgrown softball field not being utilized at their Hampton facility. In partnership with the Salvation Army, the Peninsula Stars Players/Parents cleaned up the field, installed fencing, dugouts, a batting cage and built a structure to serve as storage and concession. In return, the Peninsula Stars have a "home field" and access to the gymnasium facility. This fall, our Players/Parents will volunteer to pack Thanksgiving baskets to be delivered to area families. This union emulates our mission to stimulate growth, community awareness, and produce mature productive adults.
