The Martha’s Vineyard Arena is home to MV Youth Hockey MV High School Boys Hockey , MV High School Girls Hockey, the MV Figure Skating Club , Public Skating, the Cutting Edge Pro Shop Adult Hockey , Summer High School Hockey League, the East Coast Classic AAA Hockey Tournament , and Summer Hockey Schools . It is also available for private rental for birthday parties, family outings and other events. Established in 1974, the Arena began operations in January, 1980, as an outdoor skating facility. In 1992, with the help of local businesses and a generous loan guarantee, the Arena completed a capital improvement program, enclosing the ice arena and providing year-round skating activities. The Arena is a tribute not only to the management and financial planning of the Board of Directors, but also the generous financial support of this remarkable community. 2002 marked the culmination of twenty-one years of effort with the commencement of the final phase, providing shower and locker room facilities for the atheletes and community members who use the arena.     The Garfield Heights Figure Skating Club (GHFSC) is an affiliate of US Figure Skating. It seeks to promote both recreational and competitive figure skating. GHFSC is also the home of nationally renowned Synchronized skating teams and sponsor of the Rising Stars Figure Skating Competition held annually in November. The club is located at the Dan Kostel Recreation Center, 5411 Turney Road, Garfield Heights, Ohio which is a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. The club was organized in 1971. It currently has 60 members, the vast majority of whom are active freestyle and synchronized team skaters. The club promotes freestyle, moves in the field, dance and synchronized team skating. USFS sanctioned tests are held semiannually. The Club's Rising Stars Figure Skating Competition draws competitors at the Open-Juvenile level and under.     California Figure Skating , formerly known as the Berkeley Figure Skating Club (BFSC), was founded in September, 2003, when two dedicated skaters, Katie Specht and Asya Passinsky , joined together to promote figure skating at UC Berkeley. The team is a growing group of college students who love figure skating and wish to compete throughout their busy college years. In its first year of establishment, the team already qualified to compete at the National Intercollegiate Figure Skating Championships in Amherst, MA, and achieved a seventh place debut finish. Since then, CalFS has qualified to compete at every Nationals. After working hard all year to recruit skaters and organize an active club, CalFS received the UC Berkeley Student Group Dedication to a Cause Award. Since October of 2004, Cal FS has been an official Sport of UC Berkeley. In additional to the competitive scene, CalFS is also developing a recreational side through organizing Skate Nights when team members teach skating techniques. We also welcome organizations to
