Good Job Tom!
There are a slew of former athletes out there that have yet to discover the joy, speed and health benefits of cranking (handcycling) As a former wheelchair basketball player, handcycling rules.
Now, if we could get the pricing in Canada on par with the US, maybe it would become more affordable and accessible to people. Snow is almost gone! yahoo, time to blow off the dust on my bike I hear ya. I'm a T6 paraplegic as of 2008. Just purchased a TopEnd Force from the USA. I'm very excited about cycling again after a year of rehab.
Any tips to hand cycling?

Handcycle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Redirected from Handcycles Jump to: navigation search A competition handcycle A handcycle is a type of human powered land vehicle powered by the arms rather than the legs , as on a bicycle . Most handcycles are tricycle in form, with two coasting rear wheels and one steerable powered front wheel. Despite usually having three wheels, they are also known as handbikes Many manufacturers have designed and released hand-powered recumbent trikes, or handcycles. Handcycles are a regular sight at HPV meets and are beginning to be seen on the streets. These usually follow a delta design with front wheels driven by standard derailleur gearing powered by hand cranks Brake levers are usually mounted on the handholds which are usually set with no offset (unlike pedal cranks, which are usually offset by 180°). The entire crank assembly and the front wheel turn together, allowing the rider to steer and crank simultaneously. Thanks to modern technology, handcycles come in a variety of styles, making them accessible to people of all abilities, including many persons with disabilities. There are also hybrids between a handcycle, a recumbent bike and a tricycle. Fork steer handcycles represent the majority of handcycles sold. They work well for both low and high-level injuries, and most have adjustable footrests, seat angle, and come with a variety of gearing

Home Improvements, Rain delays and Painting
It's been a few weeks since I have posted an update. Not to worry, things are progressing (mostly). There was a small delay thanks to a nasty rain storm that came in and caused a roof leak. Waking up to this on my ceiling is not what I was hoping for.. at least the damage was contained and in an area that hadn't been textured and painted yet.
The front room is done, baseboards are in, outlet, switches, and light fixtures are up (thanks Jonathan!) and the first coat on the fireplace is coming along.
Bedrooms are also done.. guest bedroom is currently serving double-duty as storage space so I don't have a great picture. You'll have to use your imagination.
Work has begun on the office.. next up bathrooms, kitchen, family room, and laundry room.

Home Improvements, Painting Starts
Just a quick update before I pass out from paint fumes (now I remember why Zero VOC paint can be worth the extra few dollars per gallon). Just about half the house has been textured and the master bedroom and hallway have been painted.

Hilary Lewis is from Cramerview Johannesburg and work for BCX Business Solutions as a IT Consultan. I was injured in 1988 during the Venda National off-road motorcycle race, with the result that I am a paraplegic T6 complete.
I have been hand cycling since 1992, when I bought my first clip-on, a Quickie Cyclone with 48 gears. Needles to say I found it was heavy and not fast enough on the hills. My next hand cycle was a Freedom Ryder, which started my love affair with lean-steering, which is really great as you can pedal full stroke even when you have the bike cranked over in a full lock turn!
