Welcome
Broken Links
Visitors to this site are unfortunately finding a large number of broken links. Some of that is because the system formerly hosting the hike time estimator and the photos is gone. Until all the links are updated, some photos are unavailable but the estimator can be found here The original map links on the site were to Topozone which is now a fee service, and therefore less valuable for occasional users and content providers. Most map links now point to Terraserver , but if you hit an unconverted one just paste the trailhead coordinates into Acme Mapper Where broken links are to pages off our site, we try to keep up with them and some users have been helpful in finding their new locations. The White Mountain National Forest is redoing their site and some pages have vanished - we'll keep the links until they put them back. Our Goals The many printed guidebooks to hiking in New Hampshire all suffer from the problems of a print publishing cycle. By the time a batch of descriptions is edited, printed, bound, and sold, most of them are probably a year or more old. If a hiker finds that a trail is closed or relocated, a bridge is washed out or the access road closed for repair, they can write to the guidebook publisher and get a nice letter in response. At best the publisher might add a printed errata sheet to unsold books, but this change will not appear in the books already sold! Changes to maps or pictures will probably wait for the next edition several years in the future. Even those publishers who sell trail descriptions online do not seem to update them when corrections are submitted.

China
Peru USA The Netherlands ... Argentina China Zhang Jia Jie Peru The inca trail to Machu picchu Although there are many beautiful parts of Peru to hike (the Colca canyon to name one) you have to be some what acclimated to go on a hike in the Andes. So at the end of my journey I went on a 3 day hike from 'km 88' to Machu picchu. It's along the ancient spiritual inca route and a perfect way to get a good feeling about Machu picchu. We went with a guide and 'sherpa's', but you can do it on your own. The route is very beautiful and only the second day is heavy. On that day you have to go over a pass of 4200 m. You have to camp because there are not that many places to stay and a lot of people that do the route. USA National parks The south rim of the Grand canyon I walked the bright angel trail and part of the south kaibab trail, all the way down to the Colorado river. Although it's not recommended to do that in one day, you can do it if you are in good condition and start early (start at sunset like I did, it's early but you have enough time and don't have to walk in the heat all the time). I hiked in July so you have to be careful of the heat and drink a lot, the trail has enough drinking places to fill a bottle. Be careful not to make the mistake of going further down, because you start going down and the only way out of the canyon is the same steep way up! So watch the hours. But it's very fulfilling to walk all the way to the river.

1000 Photos! (plus some more)
Guess what? Yep its another photography post! Heh. I have had a digital camera for nearly a year now, my first ever proper camera. I only had shitty disposable ones before that. I have to blame the blogging somewhat for my photography obsession, seeing such great photographs all over blog world just made me want to take more photographs and not just shit ones.
I love taking the camera with me hiking and then being able to share the landscape with you, whether you like it or not. Its a photographic memory collection for me and proof that the blood, sweat and tears involved in hiking is worth it.
What you wont find are many photographs of me, I absofookinlutely hate having my photo took, with a passion. The only photos that are about of me, are ones that I have took of myself. Its something I am getting over. Its somewhat amusing, considering how much I actually like taking photographs.
