We have made some changes to reflect later performances and also a few just for fun. The casting here is a bit odd as the cast did pretty much change with each performance. The original mountie chorus consisted of the Fred Tomlinson Singers, John Cleese, and Graham Chapman, but they were joined by Eric Idle and the Terrys for And Now for Something Completely Different . In the Hollywood Bowl Michael Palin was replaced by Eric Idle, and Connie Booth by Carol Cleveland, and the mountie chorus consisted of the remaining Pythons and Neil Innes. The Lumberjack 100 will once again utilize Michigan's beautiful Manistee National Forest, but with a new 33-mile loop snaking through the Big-M Ski Area for 2010. The Michigan style single track; composed mostly of hard pack trail, occasional sandy sections, and fast rolling terrain offers twists and turns that demand constant power, and total concentration as the trails quickly turn to nothing more than green blurs of forest. (If you're expecting easy, fire-road coasting, look elsewhere!) Ninety percent of the 33-mile, 3-lap race is comprised of this single track that will eventually push racers over 9,000 feet of total elevation gain. From the pro/elite racers, to those that will find victory in just surviving a race like the Founders Lumberjack 100, the post-race meal/awards has also made this a must-be-there event for both racers and spectators alike. Managed Forests Provide Forever NEW YORK STATE WOODSMEN'S FIELD DAYS, INC. Welcome to the NYS Woodsmen's Field Days, located in Boonville , New York. A small picturesque town located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in central northern New York State. The Woodsmen's Field Days, a nonprofit organization, was founded by the Rev. Frank Reed in 1948. Due to the support of its many volunteers, (nearly 400) the Field Days have evolved into one of the predominant lumberjack contests in the United States today. Contestants come from as far away as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to compete in the lumberjack festivities, which are held the third weekend in August. In addition to the Woodsmen's contest on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there are displays of various forestry related equipment, covering a wide variety of interests from the professional logger to the occasional firewood cutter. The primary goals of the Woodsmen's Field Days are promotion of the forest industry in general, and in keeping with the intent of Rev. Reed, the lumberjack in particular, a vanishing breed of men.
