    Aloha!
Kilohana Outrigger Canoe Club is one of Northern California's top Hawai'ian outrigger canoe clubs.
Located in Redwood City, and Fremont, California, Kilohana's paddling family, or ohana, is proud of its diverse membership of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Everyone who joins this club will experience the unique Kilohana style of team spirit, athleticism, competitiveness, and fun.
Our canoe race venues span the San Francisco Bay Area, Monterey Bay, Sacramento, and Lake Tahoe.
In addition to the NCOCA -sanctioned canoe races, our club competes in races located in Southern California, including Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and the greater Los Angeles area. Outrigger canoeing season in Northern California usually begins in February and continues through the month of October. Six-man outrigger canoe (V-6) long distance races begin in May, followed by the NCOCA sprint regattas through July, and then long distances races resume until September. During the the fall and winter, many paddlers participate in the Wave Chaser Series races with V-1 and V-2 outrigger canoes.
Every year, select crews of our most competitive paddlers also compete in outrigger canoe races in Hawai'i. These challenging races are the ones our most athletic and experienced paddlers look forward to, especially the Moloka'i Hoe for the men and the Na Wahine 'O Ke Kai for the women. Racing across the Kai'wi channel from Moloka'i to Oahua distance of over 40 milesis the world championships of outrigger canoeing.

Outrigger Canoe
Outrigger paddling is a year round activity on the Sunshine Coast. Our beautiful and varied coastline offers ample opportunities to see wildlife, discover beautiful destinations, swim, and enjoy fresh air and exercise. From a leisurely pace to a full workout, paddling's aerobic intensity depends on your crew's decision on speed and distance covered. Both recreational and competitive paddlers' needs are met with a wide range of canoes and equipment. Canoes are located at Gibsons Marina (OC1, OC2, OC4, and OC6) and MacKenzie's Marina in Sechelt (OC4 and OC6). To use Small Boats (OC1 and OC2) rmembers must attend a small boat training session which can be arranged by contacting smallboats@gibsonspaddleclub.ca . Any damage or difficulties with canoes or equipment should be reported to maintenance@gibsonspaddleclub.ca Canoe booking schedule can be viewed online once you sign into our Yahoo database . All members will be given a common username and password to access the membership and boat bookings.
Drop in paddling times are welcome to everyone and are on Sunday's at 8:00 AM (All seasons)at Gibsons Marina and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM (May to September) at MacKenzie's Marina . Contact membership@gibsonspaddleclub for more information.

Ho'okahi Pu'uwai Outrigger Canoe Club (HPOCC) was founded in 1998 to promote outrigger canoeing and related Hawaiian and Pacific Island paddling sports. Based in Foster City, CA, HPOCC is a 501c non-profit organization, which supports itself through modest membership dues, tax deductible contributions from individuals and fund raising activities in the community.
Ho'okahi Pu'uwai means one heart, one goal in the Hawaiian language and is a sentiment we perpetuate throughout our ohana. We are one of the largest outrigger clubs in the Northern California Outrigger Canoe Association (NCOCA), currently with over 100 members ranging in age from 6 to 60+ that compete on a consistent basis. We hold our practices in two locations - Coyote Point Yacht Harbor for open water training and the Foster City Lagoons flat water training.
HPOCC enters crews to compete in all of the NCOCA sprint and long distance competitions, along with races in Southern California (Catalina Channel, Santa Barbara), Hawaii (Molokai Channel, Queen Lilioukalani Race) and New York (Liberty Challenge).
In the early long distance season, from April through the end of May, races typically range from 8 to 15 miles (3 to 5 miles for Novice). The sprint season lasts from June through July and consists of a series of regattas where clubs compete to gather points, culminating in the Sprint Championships at the end of the season. There are races to accommodate anyone who wants to paddle, from our keiki's (kids) as young as 6 years old up to our Senior Masters over 60 years old. Races, ranging from 250 meters (for the keikis) up to 2000 meters match crews of similar age and experience. Long distance season starts up again in August and lasts until September with crews paddling in races around the Bay Area and in Hawaii.
