Sailing " is a song written by Gavin Sutherland in 1972 and recorded at various times by Sutherland's group, the Sutherland Brothers , and then the amalgamated Sutherland Brothers and Quiver Rod Stewart recorded the song at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama for his 1975 album Atlantic Crossing , and it was subsequently a number one hit in the UK in September 1975 for four weeks. The single returned to the UK top ten a year later when used as the theme music for the BBC documentary series Sailor , about HMS Ark Royal , and made a minor chart appearance when re-released as a charity single after the Zeebrugge ferry disaster in 1987. Having been a hit twice, it remains Stewart's biggest-selling single in the UK.

About Broad Bay Sailing Association The Broad Bay Sailing Association was formed in 1958 by a group of sailors seeking informal racing on Linkhorn and Broad Bays (Virginia Beach) in various types of small boats. To add a little spice to their endeavor they built or purchased a few 11 foot Penguins and 16 foot Comets which along with several Hampton One-Designs were the nucleus of the Broad Bay fleet. The club is composed of people who like to sail and enjoy each others company. Meetings are held at 7:00 PM, usually on the third Tuesday of the month at different locations throughout Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Please check the latest issue of the club's monthly newsletter, the BBSA Banter, for the date and location of the next meeting. Interested in learning to sail?

Preowned Flying Moth
This pre-owned boat is less than 2 years old and has only been sailed a handful of times. The original Fastacraft foils are still considered one of the most competitive in the Moth class. The sails are in perfect condition. The boat also has brand new trampolines that have never been used. All the hardware and lines are also in great condition. Overall the boat is very clean and well maintained and everything has been mostly stored inside. This is a great deal on a great boat!

Explorers "Cruising in Christian Company" Headlines Our 2002 cruise will be Saturday 20 th to Saturday 27 th July, 2002, and will start from Dunstaffnage, five miles this side of Oban. Two boats were originally chartered, a 40' Oceanlord and a 33' Westerly Storm (Rosally). Due to demand, I have managed to secure a third boat - a 36' Mooday (Rusty Nail). Places are limited to TWENTY and at the time of writing (12 March 2002) there is just one place left due to a late cancellation. If you are interested get your form in instanta! What is Explorers? Explorers is a Christian organisation that arranges a coastal or offshore UK based sailing trip for one week each year. Recent trips include Southern Ireland (UK based?!), the Isles of Scilly, the East Coast and Scotland. Any one professing or sympathetic to the Christian faith is welcome to come sailing with us. Enjoying sailing might also be an advantage. Explorers has been established for over 30 years, and hundreds of people, young and old, have experienced the doubtful pleasures of being crammed together for a week with their fellow humans, some of whom they have never met before, in a small space, which is frequently damp and always moving. No previous experience is required (of sailing, that is), but an ability to 'muck in' is an advantage. The list below links to the various subjects in which you may be interested.
